Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This resource is designed to facilitate and support the delivery of training for care services staff. Like other Towards Outstanding titles, it is built on the premise that reflection is a critical tool for driving improvement. Along with the core text Towards Outstanding: A Guide to Excellence in Health and Social Care (to which trainees require personal or shared access) and Towards Outstanding: A Self-Development Reflection Workbook (of which they should own a personal copy), it explains why reflection, assessment and continuous improvement are critical ingredients of exceptional care. With this foundation in place, a series of sessions spanning a wide range of topics allow staff to explore and collaborative plan the best way for their own organisation and team to move forward. Interactive and engaging, the wisdom and practical guidance contained in this resource can set any service on the road to an 'Outstanding' rating.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Towards Outstanding is an essential guide for health and social care services that are regulated by the Care Quality Commission. Written by a senior CQC inspector, it shows how a mindset of getting the basics right then applying context-specific finishing touches can allow any service to drive improvement and move towards an 'Outstanding' rating. The author also explores why, in addition to other patient and organisational benefits, good care is cheaper to provide than poor care. Structuring her advice around the 'five questions' that CQC inspectors use (are services safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led?), she draws on personal vignettes to paint a picture of a service where trust, positivity, a shared vision and a commitment to continuous improvement allow staff to generate new ideas, reflect on best practice, raise concerns where necessary and keep the patient at the centre of all activity.

Book Synopsis Outstanding Teaching by : Andy Griffith

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In an era when schools and teachers often seem to operate at one hundred miles an hour, Teaching Backwards offers a more reflective and measured approach to teaching and learning. Where many teachers focus on delivering content in a linear fashion, those who teach backwards start with the end in mind. This means that they know in advance what levels of knowledge, attitude, skills and habits they expect their learners to achieve, they define and demystify ambitious goals, and they establish their students' starting points before they start to plan and teach. Teaching Backwards ensures that learners consistently make great progress over time, and offers a practical, hands-on manual for teachers to further develop their attitudes, skills and habits of excellence both for themselves and for their learners. This book is the follow-up to the best-selling Outstanding Teaching: Engaging Learners. It is based on the analysis of thousands of hours of primary and secondary lessons, part of Osiris Education's Outstanding Teaching Intervention programme over the last seven years.

Book Synopsis China-Malaysia Relations and Foreign Policy by : Razak Abdullah
Download or read book China-Malaysia Relations and Foreign Policy written by Razak Abdullah and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-08-11 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, paid an official visit to China in May 1974, it secured Malaysia a place in the annals of regional diplomatic history as the first ASEAN country to establish full diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China. This book analyses the process of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, and provides a detailed explanation and understanding of the decision- making process in Malaysia. Shedding light on the roles played by the various principal actors in the process of foreign policy formulation and the influences - both internal and external – that shaped Malaysia’s behaviour, the book highlights why Malaysia decided to pursue a policy of normalisation with China, culminating in the visit in 1974, and in particular why it became the first ASEAN country to establish diplomatic relations with the Chinese. After Malaysia’s recognition of Beijing, two other ASEAN states followed suit, namely Thailand and the Philippines, and the book discusses whether there was some degree of policy coordination amongst ASEAN countries in dealing with China, or if both these countries gave way for Malaysia to be the first. The book also looks at the policy debates within some ASEAN countries regarding relations with China, either conducted officially or unofficially, bilaterally or otherwise. This book will be of interest to scholars of Asian Politics, Asian History, International Relations and Foreign Policy.
