Book excerpt: When Lee hires a free-spirited employee with a tie-dyed, troubled past, she discovers that even the counterculture can conceal a killer.... As much as the chocolate concoctions at TenHuis Chocolade can tantalize people’s tongues, Lee’s newest hire is more likely to make them wag. Forsythia “Sissy” Smith is the granddaughter of Warner Pier’s resident hippie, but the fact that Sissy is a third-generation flower child is the least of Lee’s concerns. The previous winter, Sissy’s husband, Buzz, was found dead, and even though her alibi was airtight, the gossips are still pointing their fingers at her. Then the chief gossip is found dead, with Sissy on the scene. Was she lured there? Or is she the killer? Lee has a sneaking suspicion that someone is out to keep a dark secret from coming to light. And they would have no problem killing a certain clever chocolatier who might uncover the truth.... With Tasty Chocolate Trivia!
Book Synopsis A Patchwork Fish Tale by : Stewart Moskowitz
Download or read book A Patchwork Fish Tale written by Stewart Moskowitz and published by Stewart Moskowitz Media. This book was released on 2013-12-20 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This aquatic tale for children takes place in an usual aquarium full of duck fish, hippo fish, tiger fish, and one very large and hungry fish. The story was first published in 1982, and was the creation of artist and author Stewart Moskowitz, who is best known for his fanciful and lighthearted paintings of animals. The book was part of a four book series, each volume's story being inspired by a Moskowitz painting on its cover. None of the four paintings had been intended to relate to a book, but when asked by Simon and Schuster to create stories, the artist wrote his first books. Patchwork Fish is arguably the most compelling of them. In this new edition, the rebuilding of every color and every detail was directed by the author, with the goal of creating an improved version of the original, but without major changes. The restored pictures are vibrant and crisp, with some occasional revisions of coloring, but in general very closely matched to the original. The text is almost unchanged, with just a few very slight alterations, mostly of punctuation. Like all Moskowitz stories, you can expect a happy ending. A 28-page story, published by Stewart Moskowitz Media.

Book excerpt: In the fifth Death by Chocolate Mystery by USA Today bestselling author Sarah Graves, Jacobia "Jake" Tiptree and Ellie White, owners of the Chocolate Moose Bakery, are hired to cater a retired film star's party in what's rumored to be Eastport, Maine's most haunted house... Jake and Ellie are taking a break from perfecting their chocolate pizza recipe to cater a housewarming party hosted by movie icon Ingrid Merryfield. Miss Merryfield is famous for her old-Hollywood glamour. Her new home, Cliff House, has a reputation too--for being haunted. Some of her guests even try to summon a spirit during the party, using a Ouija board. What arrives instead is a freak autumn storm that downs an ancient tree, trapping everyone on the property and setting the stage for a killer's planned spree . . . Though Jake and Ellie don't intend to get stirred into the mix, there's no avoiding it--especially when they witness a guest being shoved over the very precipice that gave Cliff House its forbidding name. As they sift through suspects and motives, their search takes them from a long-lost family graveyard to an herbalist's deceptively sweet cottage and finally to Cliff House's overgrown gardens. Is there some ghostly presence involved--or a flesh-and-blood villain? Either way, can they avoid meeting their very own, very permanent Hollywood ending?
