Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a society, a global perspective on relationships is not only valuable but needed. In “I Dare You to Tell the Truth.” Miss Peakock has given the reader a rarely seen glimpse into the vast diversity of male-female encounters. From the first to the last page, the “truthful” reader will identify with scenarios or encounters they experienced or someone they know experienced. For those wanting to develop a workable plan for achieving relationships that includes honesty, open communication and realistic goals, this book is a must read. I implore all to read this book in preparation for the relationship battles ahead. As the sayings go, “forewarned, is forearmed” AND “a word (or this book) to the wise is sufficient.” -Dr. Deborah A. Finley After reading Ginger Peakock’s new novel, “I Dare You to Tell the Truth.” The book is a must read as well as a great read, Real life experience; know your partner a little better before committing to them. Also pay attention to detail about a person because everybody won’t tell you the truth. -Author Carl Boddie These short stories will have you on the edge of your seat anticipating the surprising twists and turns that awaits you. Some even have life lessons that keep you thinking. Detailed, eventful and humorous I promise you these vignettes will leave you wanting to read on. -Cosmetologist Reason Ali Definitely one of those books that have a person say hmm? Lots of great conversation will be shared after reading this book. Everyone can relate to at least one of these characters. I Dare You to Tell the Truth. -Homemaker Lisa Fernandez It’s a very powerful version of true life stories, and a must read for all family members, couples, and singles alike. -Non-traditional college student Cassandra Royal I must say after reading the novel I Dare You to Tell the Truth, I was sitting in my chair as if I had my seat belt on. The novel captivated my attention, and I could not put it down. The novel focused on all aspects of relationships, family, identity, marriage, or meeting someone for the first time. I began asking myself a few serious questions, how well do you really know who someone is? Are people really living double lives, and how many had similar situations that are on the pages of this book, but dare to tell the truth? This novel was steamy, an attention grabber, a lesson in living, and most of all can be used as a motivational book in the dating arena. Congratulations this novel is “HOT”. -Ms. Sharon Robinson—Director

Book excerpt: Leah was first thrust under the reality television microscope when her teen pregnancy was documented on MTV’s groundbreaking series, 16 and Pregnant. Since then, fans of Teen Mom 2 have watched her life play out on the small screen—from her struggle to rise to the challenges of motherhood, through her harrowing journey to find a diagnosis for one of her twin girls with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, and the collapse of two marriages. She has learned to live under the harsh glare of media scrutiny, yet there is a truth behind the reality that the cameras have never revealed. In her unflinching and honest memoir, Leah takes readers behind the scenes and shares an intimate, often heartbreaking, portrait of her turbulent childhood in rural West Virginia, the rock bottom that forced her to reevaluate her life, and her triumphant break from toxic relationships and self-destructive cycles to live her life with hope, grace, and faith.

Book excerpt: For the first time ever, the popular late host of ESPN's The Sports Reporters and ABC's college football openly discusses a lifelong battle with depression. During his three decades on ESPN and ABC, John Saunders became one of the nation's most respected and beloved sportscasters. In this moving, jarring, and ultimately inspiring memoir, Saunders discusses his troubled childhood, the traumatic brain injury he suffered in 2011, and the severe depression that nearly cost him his life. As Saunders writes, Playing Hurt is not an autobiography of a sports celebrity but a memoir of a man facing his own mental illness, and emerging better off for the effort. I will take you into the heart of my struggle with depression, including insights into some of its causes, its consequences, and its treatments. I invite you behind the facade of my apparently "perfect" life as a sportscaster, with a wonderful wife and two healthy, happy adult daughters. I have a lot to be thankful for, and I am truly grateful. But none of these things can protect me or anyone else from the disease of depression and its potentially lethal effects. Mine is a rare story: that of a black man in the sports industry openly grappling with depression. I will share the good, the bad, and the ugly, including the lengths I've gone to to conceal my private life from the public. So why write a book? Because I want to end the pain and heartache that comes from leading a double life. I also want to reach out to the millions of people, especially men, who think they're alone and can't ask for help. John Saunders died suddenly on August 10, 2016, from an enlarged heart, diabetes, and other complications. This book is his ultimate act of generosity to help those who suffer from mental illness, and those who love them.

I wrote this book for my senior writing project class my senior year of college. It was a two semester class that included a lot of editing and adding to the book throughout it all with the help of my professor and classmates through Zoom since we were online my whole senior year. Personally, I love reading romance novels or dramas. My inspiration for this piece was to make it seem like a lifetime movie. I wanted the reader to really feel as though they are in the main character's shoes. While coming up with that, I thought of the idea of making up a fictional character and have them encounter real life events and ran with it. Adding to that, I made this character face hard situations that made her get to her goal of getting into her dream college. Going off of that, Cass (A totally made up character) had to face addiction, loss, heartbreak and life changing moments that altered her life forever. She comes up on top and makes her come back through self-intervention, recovery, and therapy. It's never too late to get to your dream destination and that is exactly what I wanted my character to portray.

Book excerpt: When a Brooklyn, New York domestic violence judge that was supposed to protect Aleah and her children stole her toddler son and gave sole custody to a drug addicted, alcoholic, and abuser, Aleah did not know what to do. It is indescribable and something out of the 'Twilight Zone' what she went through. In 2011 Aleah was ordered into this domestic violence court to address the crimes being committed on her and her children by her scorned ex-boyfriend who she shared a son with. After being assaulted and battered by this drug addict with a history of beating women and children unbeknownst to Aleah. She thought she would finally be safe if she went through the domestic violence system, which she avoided for over 3 years. However, once court-ordered into the domestic violence system her life was turned upside-down. She thought the abuse would stop. Aleah thought the harassment would stop, she thought stalking would stop, she thought the assaults on her children would stop, however, things became a million times worse than any normal human-being that believe and trust the justice system could ever imagine, pure evil. The judge, her 3 year-old son's lawyer and New York City Administration for Children Services aka ACS teamed up with Aleah's abuser against her and her children. This seemed to be the common policy, practice, and crime manipulating law for millions of domestic violence victims enslaved in this system Aleah would soon discover. They treated her and her children abuser as if he was their coworker and stole her child away from her, threatened arrest and jail if she tried to contact her child. Aleah discovered over the last twenty years these "Crime-Custody- Bait & Switch" courts have been silencing women and stealing their children under the guise of protection, safety, and best interest of the child. It is estimated that over 2 million children have been abducted by court orders and removed from their loving, caring, safe mothers to a life sentence with a rapist, abusers, pedophile or sociopaths that these secret circus courts are REBRANDING as good dads and protecting them too. All across America, for kicks and lucrative kickbacks judges, lawyers, ACS, CPS, mental health professionals, and so many others are profiting and benefiting from this crime-manipulating industry that is intentionally allowing torture, torment, abuse, rapes, maltreatment, and gross-harmful negligence against mothers and their children in these fake family court and domestic violence court proceedings. I wanted to share my story and let mothers, victims, and children know, "what is going on in these courts is pure evil, and there are good humans fighting for them." As Aleah continues to fall down the domestic violence-family court rabbit-hole more books will unfold. Aleas is working to help free children and mothers from this enslaving and vicious domestic violence system.

Book excerpt: They're rich. They're poor. They're all nationalities and they are beautiful, positive teenage girls. Introducing the Black Belt Babez. Not only do they experience success in the martial arts, they carry the lessons and disciplines into the real world of teenage life. They earn the admiration of their peers as they excel in the gym, the classroom, and the streets. Never shedding their femininity, the girls come to the aid of those around them while struggling with differing family issues in their own lives. Chanel, Candy, Carmen, and Carole take on the troubles and obstacles of teenage life in northern Ohio. Parents, friends, boys, music, cars, and the staples of high school life keep tossing surprises into their daily lives. Each has their own life and own quests, but everything converges in the Right Path Studio, where they sweat and kick their way through more than just a workout. They find out that karate and dance have many parallels to real life. Make the right moves and you'll excel. Make the wrong moves and you'll be kicked aside. Or worse. It doesn't matter your background. Becoming a woman is hard. Especially for those who become woman warriors in the true sense. Sex, drugs, violence, deceit, joy, acceptance -- they're all part of the mantle of ascendancy to womanhood. The girls punch and cartwheel their way through their estrogen-fueled adventures to find who they really are. Sometimes the softer feminine tact works best, sometimes dislocating a few joints is more convenient. The dancers at The Studio may not have the in-ya-face graciousness of the Black Belt Babez, but they're every bit as chic and beautiful. When an up and coming boy band needs some beautiful girls for their video, the teen dancers find themselves tangled in more than the boys' muscular arms. Follow the adventures as the fashion-conscience girls take on cheating boyfriends, jealous girlfriends, gangs, street thugs, kidnappers, drug dealers, and sexploiters. That could mean breaking a fingernail or two.
