This book was released on 2014-08-21 with total page 431 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Colonial missionaries, both Catholic and Protestant, arrived in India with the grandiose vision of converting the pagans because, like St. Peter (Acts 4:12) and most of the church fathers, they honestly believed that there is no salvation outside the church (extra ecclesiam nulla salus). At the end of the "great Protestant century," however, Christians made up less than 3 percent of the population in India, and the hope of the missionary was nearly shattered. But if one looks at mission in India qualitatively rather than quantitatively, one sees a number of positive outcomes. Missionaries in India, particularly Protestant missionaries espousing the social gospel, in collaboration with a few British evangelical administrators, dared to challenge numerous social evils and even began to eradicate them. The scientific and liberal English education began to enlighten and transform the Indian mindset. Converts belonging to the upper caste, although small in number, laid the foundation stone of Indian theology and an inculturated church using Indian genius. The end of colonialism in India coincided with the painful death of colonial mission theology. Now, the power of the Word of God, extricated from political power, is slowly and peacefully gaining ground, like the mustard seed of the parable. A paradigm shift from the ecclesio-centric mission to missio Dei offers reason for further optimism. In short, the future of mission in India is as bright as the kingdom of God. In today's new context, theologians, despite objections from some quarters, are struggling to discover the Asian face of Jesus, disfigured by the Greco-Roman Church. And the missionary is challenged to become a living Bible that, undoubtedly, everyone will read.

Book excerpt: Youth . . . like Spring, it is an ethereal, exhilarating and enchanting season that favours each one of us just once. Like Time, it never lasts long enough, its succulence slipping away silently and stealthily. Like Mother Nature, it lets you be your own teacher of right and wrong. Like Desire, it leaves you yearning for more, never to return. Youth, at more than half of its population, is the very arbitrator of India’s destiny today. There are youth for whom life is a joy ride of pomp and selfish pleasure. Then, there are youth for whom life is a gruelling journey of toil and turmoil. And then, there are the 3-D girls . . . Devika, Damini & Deeksha!

Book Synopsis Not to Argue and Win but to Know and to Be Known - A Blue Sky Strategy by : Viswanathan C.N.
Download or read book Not to Argue and Win but to Know and to Be Known - A Blue Sky Strategy written by Viswanathan C.N. and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2020-04-04 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Not To Argue And Win But To Know And To Be Known – A Blue Sky Strategy is a book on management and philosophy. Brahmarshi Sree Narayana Guru (28 August 1855 – 20 September 1928) convened and graced ‘The International Religious Congress’ at Aluva in Kerala in February 1924. His All- Holiness Guru pronounced the Canon of Love as a slogan of the Congress: “We meet here not to argue and win but to know and to be known.” The slogan reverberated across the globe crossing the Himalayas and the Indian Ocean. The author, honestly and most-indebtedly, borrowed the Mahamantra to be decorated at the present work as its pendant. The Great Rishi has 61 literary-mystic-philosophical creations to His credit, of which Darsana Mala is the Magnum Opus. It contains ten Darsanas of the ‘profoundest-mystical-intrinsic-intricacies’ so as to qualify it as Bhagavad Gita 2.0. The author of this book has accomplished his endeavour by ‘transforming the energy contained in the ten Darsanas to analogise and equate them to ten Management Sutras’. He honourably hopes that The Guru Darsanas are a high-end epiphany of management thoughts; those who follow them shall surf in the up-above blue sky of success. Hence it is ‘A Blue Sky Strategy.’ We submit it at the lotus feet of the Jagat Guru. AUM TAT SAT
