This book was released on 2018-05-29 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computational test cases have been selected from the data set for a clipped delta wing with a six-percent-thick circular-arc airfoil section that was tested in the NASA Langley Transonic Dynamics Tunnel. The test cases include parametric variation of static angle of attack, pitching oscillation frequency, trailing-edge control surface oscillation frequency, and Mach numbers from subsonic to low supersonic values. Tables and plots of the measured pressures are presented for each case. This report provides an early release of test cases that have been proposed for a document that supplements the cases presented in AGARD Report 702.Bennett, Robert M. and Walker, Charlotte E.Langley Research CenterCOMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS; DELTA WINGS; AIRFOIL PROFILES; CONTROL SURFACES; PITCH (INCLINATION); WIND TUNNEL TESTS; UNSTEADY AERODYNAMICS; TRANSONIC FLOW; COMPUTERIZED SIMULATION; ANGLE OF ATTACK; TRAILING EDGES; MACH NUMBER; WIND TUNNEL MODELS; ATTITUDE CONTROL; OSCILLATIONS

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This series of volumes on the OC Frontiers of Computational Fluid DynamicsOCO was introduced to honor contributors who have made a major impact on the field. The first volume was published in 1994 and was dedicated to Prof Antony Jameson; the second was published in 1998 and was dedicated to Prof Earl Murman. The volume is dedicated to Prof Robert MacCormack. The twenty-six chapters in the current volume have been written by leading researchers from academia, government laboratories, and industry. They present up-to-date descriptions of recent developments in techniques for numerical analysis of fluid flow problems, and applications of these techniques to important problems in industry, as well as the classic paper that introduced the OC MacCormack schemeOCO to the world. Book Synopsis Introductory Aerodynamics and Hydrodynamics of Wings and Bodies by : Frederick O. Smetana
Download or read book Introductory Aerodynamics and Hydrodynamics of Wings and Bodies written by Frederick O. Smetana and published by AIAA. This book was released on 1997 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annotation This textbook and its six supporting computer programs provide theoretical modeling of the aerodynamic characteristics of wings and bodies at low Mach numbers. The approach presented directly helps engineering students improve problem-solving skills by teaching them to discern the necessary steps associated with solving analytical problems. The book also presents a justification and rationale for validating end results that leave the student with an understanding of the answer. The text differs from others by providing interactive computer programs that allow the student to conduct trade studies. It provides case-specific software that permits the student to do considerably more characteristic analysis of user-selected wings and bodies than is possible with other introductory textbooks. In addition, the algorithms are capable of working problems at a level well beyond those typically solved by hand in other textbooks. This approach allows students to determine easily the effects of modifying parameters and geometry. Another benefit of using this textbook is the understanding students gain of the capabilities of large industrial codes.
