Book excerpt: Through the Eyes of a Child is a child's view of how small acts of kindness can lead to a positive impact in the world. If everyone would do something positive some of the time it would already make a difference. The problem that Mia sees in our adult view of life is that most of us believe that we have to make big sacrifices to have any real effect so we end up doing nothing instead. "Through the Eyes of a Child" invites you to be the change that you want to see in the world through simple changes in better decisions and staying connected to others.

Just to provide a little peek of what these pages contain. We are introduced to Morgan Jobiville, excuse me I mean Princess Morgan. Showing that the imagination of a child is limitless. Then we have the pleasure of meeting Mia, providing us with some of life's most valuable lessons. Done with the flair of a preschooler. Logan is a young boy that is very curious about the different faiths of the world. His story begins in the Halls of Maat but heaven knows what he might learn about other faiths. The last story is the first of my "Hope Series", showing that there can be hope no matter what situation that your in. These four stories are just the beginning of four different series.

Through Children’s Eyes was inspired by Sarah Brittany Sandbach’s first-grade students. Through countless unforgettable moments in the classroom, Ms. Sandbach developed an idea that might share these same thoughts with the world. Whether it is hopping on furniture because the floor is lava or building forts to read under, children have the right idea when it comes to viewing the world. The life we live is full of inspiring people and blessings; though it can sometimes be over-shadowed by situations that block that perspective.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD is a true story of how I understood my life as a child and some of the decisions and consequences that followed as an adult due to the lack of parental guidance, love, and the feeling of being accepted as an OK person. I am a true believer that if God had not shown up in my life when He did and had not intervened, I and my two children would not be alive today. I was born in East Texas in Marshall in 1947 and was the oldest of three children born to my parents. We were children from the first marriage. Later my dad married seven more times and my mom eight more times, marrying the same man twice. As I talk about the path of life that I followed, you can understand as a reader how the dysfunctional childhood played a large part in my life. Along with the dysfunction was a mixture of physical abuse & neglect, abandonment, domestic violence, alcoholism, and poverty. The first book that my sister, Mary King, wrote and I contributed is titled NO POT, NO WINDOW. She and I collaborated on the past memories in her book as well as her writing of her decisions and consequences in life. She joined the military and later retired after 21 years of active duty service as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. I retired this year from the work force with the State of Texas and have built a cabin in the mountains of south east Oklahoma where I currently reside, single, with my two Chihuahuas, Yo Quiero and Little Man. My two children are married and live with their families in the Dallas, Ft. Worth area of Texas. I have a total of six grandchildren.

The poems speak to adults about the journey and adventure of children as they learn to grow and appreciate life. This experience reminds adults of their own adventure as seen through the eyes of a child, reliving that wide-eyed expression of awe in new discoveries.

Book excerpt: An essential guide for recognizing, preventing, and healing childhood trauma, from infancy through adolescence—what parents, educators, and health professionals can do. Trauma can result not only from catastrophic events such as abuse, violence, or loss of loved ones, but from natural disasters and everyday incidents such as auto accidents, medical procedures, divorce, or even falling off a bicycle. At the core of this book is the understanding of how trauma is imprinted on the body, brain, and spirit, resulting in anxiety, nightmares, depression, physical illnesses, addictions, hyperactivity, and aggression. Rich with case studies and hands-on activities, Trauma Through a Child’s Eyes gives insight into children’s innate ability to rebound with the appropriate support, and provides their caregivers with tools to overcome and prevent trauma.
