Book Synopsis Little Monsters by : Helene Brembeck
Download or read book Little Monsters written by Helene Brembeck and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2007 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about stories of consumption beyond the culture - economy divide. By bringing along Actor Network Theory, entities that in conventional approaches are taken for granted, such as consumers, goods and companies proves to be unstable assemblages of humans, goods and technologies. We meet materialistic children and parents creating an intimate moment at McDonald's, car poolers trying to get out of the grip of individual transportation, young couples imagining a home in that odd reversal of private space, the furniture store and grown men practicing a hobby so close to childhood that it causes unease. These, and other examples, line that up as our monsters, ready to act out the drama. Considering that actor-network theory has its roots in narratology of Algirdas Greimas (1917-1992), what better use can one imagine for it than its application to the tales of consumption. In the best ANT-ian style, the book refuses to label people, things and phenomena with the received names. The message is: wait until the end of the story to see whether or not a big company wins over small consumers, or if behind a bewitching trademark hides a good fairy or a wicked witch. This collection challenges most of the common places about consumption, production, markets and consumers.

Book Synopsis The Seven Cs of Consulting by : Mick Cope
Download or read book The Seven Cs of Consulting written by Mick Cope and published by Pearson UK. This book was released on 2012-09-26 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The definition of a consultant is someone who facilitates organisational change and provides expertise on technical, functional and business topics during development or implementation. In other words a consultant is someone who helps others to change. However, change isn’t such an easy target to achieve. Research shows that the vast majority of change programmes fail. On a daily basis we hear about projects that are delayed, cancelled, over budget or boycotted by the end user. The problem is that we can never force people to change - remember the backlash against Jamie Oliver’s healthy school meals campaign where parents handed junk food to their children through school fences. The key to successful change is to engage with the end user and help them want to change. The Seven Cs of Consulting offers a consistent and collaborative language that helps both consultant and client deliver value through sustainable change. Based around the author’s highly successful 7Cs model (Client, Clarify, Create, Change, Confirm, Continue, Close) this approach is simple and accessible but firmly grounded in research and real life experience. The 7Cs approach opens up the complexity of sustainable change to the consultant and client and helps them explore- and then avoid - the real issues that cause change to fail within a more professional and trusting relationship. Book Synopsis A Place of My Own to Give God Glory by : Gwendolyn Wilson Diggs EdD
Download or read book A Place of My Own to Give God Glory written by Gwendolyn Wilson Diggs EdD and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-05-10 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Years ago, devout Christian Gwendolyn Wilson Diggs thought shed been forgotten by God. While waiting in line for a life purpose, she felt skipped over. Others members of her musically inclined family sang or played instruments, yet she did nothing. Then, during a particularly dark period, she sat down and screamed, God, what do you want me to do? His response: Spread my Word and proclaim the gospel of Christ. Diggss A Place of My Own to Give God Glory offers forty devotions, each illuminated by scripture and inspired by God. By putting God first and seeking His face, Diggs discovered her true purpose; since then, she has been filled with the joy and peace of Christ, and she seeks to spread His Word to the whole world. She artfully combines life experiences with scripture, turning each devotion into applicable lessons for your Christian walk, with included journal sections for personal reflection. Proverbs tells us, In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. God is waiting for you to walk at His side. These daily devotions will encourage you to view your difficulties from a Christian perspective. All of your questioning will reveal your purpose. God does hear you, and He wants you to hear His voice. All it takes is daily devotion to Him, and never forget the most important thing in life: Give God Glory!

Also included are controversial beliefs that religions disagree on, which are completely explained scripturally in this book such as water baptism, why we have the Bible, is swearing a sin, and why babies go to heaven if they die no matter what the parents religion is. Read about stated theories of opinions from the Bible being disproved by stated facts from the Bible. I scripturally did a deeper study on these subjects. Read about how two religions have a different set of the Ten Commandants. Read about the gate to heaven and the gate to hell. This book is to be used to lead people to salvation. It is also to help weak Christians to be strong in their walk with Christ.
