Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Methods for predicting the elastic characteristics of severely heated lifing surfaces are described. These methods, applicable to a wide variety of configurations and support conditions, account for nonlinear temperature distributions in all directions and the effects of finite deflections. Specific distributions in all formulations are given for the case where the surface can be represented as a thin plate and for the flexural element-torsion box representation. Both approaches are applied to the prediction of test data, and their accuracy is assessed. The extension of other low aspect ratio wing analysis techniques to include elevated temperature effects is also described.

This book was released on 1964 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An analytical method was developed for the analysis of static aerothermoelastic behavior in the presence of nonlinear aerodynamic loads and geometrically nonlinear structural behavior. The method was programmed for the IBM 7090 digital computer using FORTRAN coding techniques. A system for the experimental determination of static aerothermoelastic response of nonuniformly heated structures to loadings which are a nonlinear function of wing surface slopes was developed. Results of this experimental program are presented and compared with theoretical predictions. (Author).

Book excerpt: The curves presented in this volume of the final report are to be used to obtain aerodynamic influence coefficient matrices for slender two-dimensional airfoils in hypersonic inviscid flow. Influence coefficients are presented for ten airfoil shapes as a function of thickness ratio, Mach number and geometric angle of attack. (Author).

Book Synopsis Mechanics of Poroelastic Media by : A.P.S. Selvadurai
Download or read book Mechanics of Poroelastic Media written by A.P.S. Selvadurai and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1996-01-31 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Mechanics of Poroelastic Media the classical theory of poroelasticity developed by Biot is developed and extended to the study of problems in geomechanics, biomechanics, environmental mechanics and materials science. The contributions are grouped into sections covering constitutive modelling, analytical aspects, numerical modelling, and applications to problems. The applications of the classical theory of poroelasticity to a wider class of problems will be of particular interest. The text is a standard reference for researchers interested in developing mathematical models of poroelasticity in geoenvironmental mechanics, and in the application of advanced theories of poroelastic biomaterials to the mechanics of biomaterials.
