The descriptive section has been extensively altered to conform to the progress of events, particularly in their relation to the administrative work of the Park. As to the subject-matter itself, the author may properly repeat here from the preface of the previous edition that in every important respect the Yellowstone Park has so far fulfilled the expectation of its founders and has justified the wisdom of its creation.
