This book has changed the face of screenwriting worldwide over the last 25 years, and continues to do so.

Book excerpt: This book invites readers into Elena Ferrante’s workshop. It offers a glimpse into the drawers of her writing desk, those drawers from which emerged her three early standalone novels and the four installments of My Brilliant Friend, known in English as the Neapolitan Quartet. Consisting of over twenty years of letters, essays, reflections, and interviews, it is a unique depiction of an author who embodies a consummate passion for writing. In these pages Ferrante answers many of her readers’ questions. She addresses her choice to stand aside and let her books live autonomous lives. She discusses her thoughts and concerns as her novels are being adapted into films. She talks about the challenge of finding concise answers to interview questions. She explains the joys and the struggles of writing, the anguish of composing a story only to discover that it isn’t good enough for publication. She contemplates her relationship with psychoanalysis, with the cities she has lived in, with motherhood, with feminism, and with her childhood as a storehouse of memories, material, and stories. The result is a vibrant and intimate selfportrait of a writer at work.

Book excerpt: Christopher Vogler believes that film-makers are heirs to a great storytelling tradition, and that the best of them have used the principles of myth to create masterful stories which are dramatic, entertaining and psychologically true. Based on the work of the mythologist Joseph Campbell, this book examines how storytellers from Hitchcock to Lucas and Speilberg have used mythic structure to create powerful stories. Volger argues that they succeed because they tap into the mythological core that exists in all of us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This initially did not start out as my journey or even as a book. It began as smaller blogs on my Facebook page: TRUTH FOR TODAY. I headed this blog up as “Writing of the Week”. Each week I would write about one of the books I have written. These not only promoted these books but also there was a lot of insight written in them. There was a lot of history of the past several years when I started becoming an Christian Author. I began this journey in 1997, maybe even some preparation and rejection several years earlier. I decided to compile all of these blogs into one file. I thought that this might be a good thing to place on my author page as an introduction to myself and my writings. I started reviewing these and these not only told about each book and subject matter, but also about my history that I was going through. It told of my success and also told of my failures. It revealed my frustrations, but also revealed my faith. It revealed my faith, my walk with the Lord over several years and also how I had grown in that walk. Honestly, I stand back and look at all these and am amazed at what the Lord had built. Yes, I said what the Lord has built through me. These also tell about me. Tells about me as a writer, but also tells about me as a person. You get to know the content of these writings, but you get to know the writer of all these books. Maybe it would still have been a good post on an author page, but the more I looked at this and read this, it has so much information and teaching, it also is a great book and biography on myself. This will teach you how to get into writing if you are interested. It will teach you about electronic book technology. First you have to have the desire to write, but this technology is really simple once you learn this and dive into it. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian Author,, a children's book author, a non-fiction or fiction author. The process is the same. It is virtually no cost to you but can reap many benefits. I thought making this free was a good idea, but at low cost, there is so many values and benefits to buying. I know you will find this interesting and insightful. You will learn much in this one writing that you would learn in years of experience. It will make you think and meditate about many subjects. It will test and try your faith. But it will motivate you to begin. Everything begins with just one step; one small step of faith. At the very least it will introduce you to the different books I have written and which ones may be of more interest to your particular tastes or what you may be going through and thinking about now. Be Blessed in all you do. Do everything as unto the Lord and you will prosper in all you do. PATRICK J VAUGHAN

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is unlike any other writing book you have read. Instead of talking about all the things you “should” do to write your novel, or “how-to” write your novel, Internal Journey of a Writer explores just that—the inner journey one must take if they want to find true wealth and success as an author. What does this look like? It’s a deeply spiritual journey that takes you within where you will discover the limitations you place on yourself—not only as a writer, but as a human-being—and how to break free from those limitations so that you can begin to see yourself as the author you want to be, RIGHT NOW. This book is a guide for those who have tried using tools and methods, no matter how great, to write their novel, only to find themselves spinning their wheels and never writing the book. Here, you will find no tools or checklists, but a clear understanding that everything you need to write your novel is within you already . . . and that’s exactly what this book will guide you in doing—writing your novel from the inside, out.
