Robert Morison, Rev. Peter Mather, Rev. Fergus Ferguson, sen., the Rev. Dr. Guthrie, the Rev. Dr. Bathgate - and instead of having a separate volume devoted to each of the aforementioned and others, it has been suggested that the best method would be to deal with all the biographies in one volume, and to give an account of the life and labours of all the deceased ministers of the denomination. In giving effect to the above suggestion, this volume, it is hoped, will form a lasting and a becoming tribute to the memory of our lamented and dearly beloved departed Fathers and Brethren of the ministry, men who sacrificed much for the sake of the gospel and of conscience.
