This book was released on 2014-07-18 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a Bible study that will focus upon a long neglected passage of Scripture- 1 Corinthians 15:20-28. This passage from the apostle Paul is actually a divinely inspired outline or blueprint of the different "orders" or "companies" of saints involved in the resurrection of the righteous-those who have been saved throughout the ages and in the future as well. Of course, all believers anticipate their personal bodily resurrections from the dead as guaranteed by our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. However, this passage in 1 Corinthians 15 informs us that the saved of earth will not all be resurrected at the same time and in the same event. Paul revealed that there are three different "orders" or "companies" to be resurrected at three distinct times and in three separate events. Many theologians have shown confusion and hesitancy in their abilities to interpret this passage. Consequently, in the discussion about the soon coming Rapture of the Church, most seem to avoid any careful use of this passage. Sad to say, the passage has literally been "set on the shelf," as it were, in the discussion of the pretribulational or posttribulational Rapture of the Church. In this study, you will find that this passage is actually far more useful and strategic in the determination of the issues than anyone has ever realized. We know from the Hebrew Scriptures that God required all Israel to appear before Him three times in the year at what has been designated as the "Three Harvest Feasts." In a similar manner, the apostle Paul taught that the resurrection (or harvest, 1 Cor. 15:35-38) of the righteous dead to appear before God will be in three distinct stages or "each in his own order" (1 Cor. 15:23). We shall see that these "orders" were designed by the Spirit of God to fit perfectly the parallel of the sequence of the three designated Harvest Feasts. Early in his ministry, Jack W. Langford stepped outside the traditional man-made religious organizations of Christendom and served the only Church that Christ is building-"the body of Christ" (1 Cor. 12:13 and Eph. 4:1-4). He exemplified a Bible teaching ministry, conducted radio programs, held public discussions with both atheists and cult leaders, and traveled to several different countries in the service of Christ. For the last twenty years, he has researched and written many biblical studies on a wide variety of subjects. Many are available at www.SeparationTruth.com. Book Synopsis People and Place by : Michael S. Horton
Download or read book People and Place written by Michael S. Horton and published by Westminster John Knox Press. This book was released on 2008-01-01 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this final volume of a four-volume series, Michael Horton explores the origin, mission, and destiny of the church through the lens of covenantal theology. Arguing that the history of Israel and the covenant of grace provide the proper context for New Testament ecclesiology, Horton then shows how the church is constituted through the ascension of Christ, the Pentecost, and the Parousia and how it continues to live by the Word and sacraments. Horton's goal is to demonstrate the potential of a covenantal model for integrating the themes of the church as people and as place, with an urgent concern for contemporary practice.

Book excerpt: The perfect gift! A specially priced, beautifully designed hardcover edition of The Joy of the Gospel with a foreword by Robert Barron and an afterword by James Martin, SJ. “The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus… In this Exhortation I wish to encourage the Christian faithful to embark upon a new chapter of evangelization marked by this joy, while pointing out new paths for the Church’s journey in years to come.” – Pope Francis This special edition of Pope Francis's popular message of hope explores themes that are important for believers in the 21st century. Examining the many obstacles to faith and what can be done to overcome those hurdles, he emphasizes the importance of service to God and all his creation. Advocating for “the homeless, the addicted, refugees, indigenous peoples, the elderly who are increasingly isolated and abandoned,” the Holy Father shows us how to respond to poverty and current economic challenges that affect us locally and globally. Ultimately, Pope Francis demonstrates how to develop a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ, “to recognize the traces of God’s Spirit in events great and small.” Profound in its insight, yet warm and accessible in its tone, The Joy of the Gospel is a call to action to live a life motivated by divine love and, in turn, to experience heaven on earth. Book Synopsis The Pentecostal Rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ by : Jack W. Langford
Download or read book The Pentecostal Rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ written by Jack W. Langford and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2014-08-28 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most Bible teachers have long recognized the prophetic nature of the Feasts in Israel's liturgical calendar. The Hebrew prophets themselves spoke of future aspects regarding the Feast of Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles. The apostle Paul also spoke of the festivals as "a shadow of things to come" (Colossians 2:16, 17). Because of this many have sought to find a celebration which would fit the Rapture of the Church. There has, no doubt, been a lot of speculation and confusing use of Scriptures in this area of study. A few Bible teachers have suspected that the Feast of Pentecost better fits an application to the Rapture of the Church. However, because of certain unanswered questions they have hesitated to make that application. I believe that in this study you will find the right answers to those questions. Not only was the Church born at the precise time of the Offering of the Wave-loaves on Pentecost, but there are many other features about this Feast which typify the present Church dispensation. Certain features in this investigation demonstrate that Pentecost is the only Feast day which was looked upon by Jewish teachers as a "mystery" Feast, a Feast which was identified with a time of Gentile redemption. In fact, we shall see that the apostle Paul uses terminology pointing to the Feast of Pentecost and to the Offering at Pentecost in regards to the future resurrection of the Church. We will also discover that this is the only Feast on Israel's liturgical calendar which could typify the Rapture of the Church and at the very same time not be subject to the error of "date setting" in terms of its prophetic fulfillment. In other words, we shall find that a Pentecostal Rapture of the Church does not violate the principle doctrine of "imminence" in connection with the expectancy of the Rapture coming of Christ. Early in his ministry, Jack W. Langford stepped outside the traditional man-made religious organizations of Christendom and served the only Church that Christ is building-"the body of Christ" (1 Cor. 12;13 and Eph. 4:1-4). Book Synopsis From Adam to Christ by : Morna D. Hooker
Download or read book From Adam to Christ written by Morna D. Hooker and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-09-10 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The publication of these essays in one volume--essays published separately and in diverse contexts over a period of thirty years--is something of an event. Professor Hooker is one the foremost New Testament scholars currently writing, and Paul is one of her major interests. This collection includes some of her best writing on Pauline ideas and their contemporary significance. The essays focus in particular on Paul's understanding of human redemption. The author shows that in contrast to Adam, who was created in the image of God, but who lost God's glory, Christ is the true image of God and the embodiment of his glory. Christ has achieved "what the Law could not do" (Rom 8:3), and though the Law expressed the purpose of God and reflected his glory, its power was incomplete. Several essays, in exploring this relationship between old and new, center on the significance for Pauline theology of the notion of "interchange in Christ," and Professor Hooker puts forward the view that Paul's idea of participation in Christ (conveyed in such phrases as "in Christ" and "with Christ") is the key to understanding his Christology.

Book excerpt: The heretics against whom this work is directed, were the same who maintained that the demiurge, or the god who created this world and gave the Mosaic dispensation, was opposed to the supreme God. Hence they attached an idea of inherent corruption and worthlessness to all his works--amongst the rest, to the flesh or body of man; affirming that it could not rise again, and that the soul alone was capable of inheriting immortality.

Sproul, in this classic work, puts the holiness of God in its proper and central place in the Christian life. He paints an awe-inspiring vision of God that encourages Christian to become holy just as God is holy. Once you encounter the holiness of God, your life will never be the same.

Download or read book Sheol Know! written by Dirk Waren and published by . This book was released on 2015-06-08 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What happens to the soul & spirit of unsaved people when they die? This refers to anyone who has not experienced spiritual regeneration through the gospel, which includes Old Testament saints. The Bible shows that the souls of these people go to (or went to) Sheol at the point of physical decease. Sheol corresponds to Hades. These souls will be resurrected from Sheol one day (Revelation 20:11-15), which is why Sheol/Hades is described as the "intermediate state" since it refers to the condition of unredeemed souls between physical death and later resurrection. So what's the state of souls in Sheol/Hades? Jesus' story of the rich man and Lazarus, if taken literal, suggests a conscious state where people either hang out in bliss with father Abraham or suffer constant fiery torment hoping for a mere drop of water for relief. SHEOL KNOW is an honest and thorough examination of the Scriptures to determine the precise nature of Sheol/Hades. Once you see what God's Word FULLY SAYS on the subject from Genesis to Revelation and not just a single tale that Jesus told, you'll see the truth and, as Jesus said, "the truth shall set you FREE."
