Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Three Sources and Three Component Parts of Marxism: Karl Marx, Frederick Engels Throughout the civilized world the teachings of Marx evoke the utmost hostility and hatred of all bourgeois science (both official and liberal) which regards Marxism as a kind of "pernicious sect." And no other attitude is to be expected, for there can be no "impartial" social science in a society based on class struggle. In one way or another, all official and liberal science defends wage slavery, whereas Marxism has declared relentless war on wage slavery. To expect science to be impartial in a wage-slave society is as silly and naive as to expect impartiality from manufacturers on the question whether workers' wages should be increased by decreasing the profits of capital. But this is not all. The history of philosophy and the history of social science show with perfect clarity that there is nothing resembling "sectarianism" in Marxism, in the sense of its being a hidebound, petrified doctrine, a doctrine which arose away from the high road of development of world civilization. On the contrary, the genius of Marx consists precisely in the fact that he furnished answers to questions the foremost minds of mankind had already raised. His teachings arose as the direct and immediate continuation of the teachings of the greatest representatives of philosophy, political economy and socialism. Download or read book What is Marxism? written by Rob Sewell and published by Wellred Books. This book was released on 2015 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this epoch of instability, crisis, war and ever-growing inequality, Marxism is becoming an increasingly attractive proposition to millions of workers and young people around the world. The old mole of revolution, to use Karl Marx’s own phrase, is burrowing deep into the foundations of society. And yet we are repeatedly told that Marxism is either irrelevant, or out-dated, or even dead. Yet, if that were true, why are so many books and articles churned out year-on-year attacking Marxism? Clearly the powers that be are rattled or indeed frightened by these “dead” ideas. So what is this set of ideas that frightens them so much? Marxism – or scientific socialism – is the name given to the body of ideas first worked out by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels more than 150 years ago. In their totality, these ideas provide a fully worked-out theoretical basis for the struggle of the working class to attain a higher form of human society – socialism. This book is aimed specifically at newcomers to Marxism. A bestseller now in its second edition, it comprises introductory pieces on the three component parts of Marxist theory, corresponding broadly to philosophy, social history and economics: dialectical materialism, historical materialism and Marxist economics. Complementing these introductions are key extracts from some of the great works of Marxism written by its most outstanding figures – Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky.

Book Synopsis Marxism-Leninism and the Theory of International Relations by : V. Kubalkova
Download or read book Marxism-Leninism and the Theory of International Relations written by V. Kubalkova and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-10-14 with total page 430 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Refuting the assumption that orthodox Marxist theory contains anything of relevance on international relations, this book, originally published in 1980, clarifies, reconstructs, and summarizes the theories of international relations of Marx and Engels, Lenin, Stalin and the Soviet leadership of the 1970s. These are subjected to a comparative analysis and their relative integrity is examined both against one another and against selected Western theories. Marxist-Leninist models of international relations are fully explored, enabling the reader to appreciate the essence and evolution of fundamental Soviet concepts as such as proletarian, socialist internationalism, peaceful co-existence, national liberation movement and détente.
Download or read book Mark's Marxism written by Mark Maxey and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-06-20 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mark's Marxism is a contemporary understanding of what socialism and communal living envisioned by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. It brings into perspective over 100,000 years of Indigenous cultures living the communal life as illustrated in the Communist Manifesto. It shows the root cause of capitalism and the safest and best way to reverse it. With a world spinning out of control with a new wave of fascism this commentary is well received at this time. It also includes reprints of A Reader's Guide to Marxist Classics and The Marxist Glossary. This companion book embraces what Marx and Engels envisioned and is quite a necessary read in this time and age.
