Download or read book The Spirit Made Me Do It written by Donald T. Williams and published by . This book was released on 2011-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Spirit Made Me Do It Difficult life lessons learned the hard way made simpler via God's way Would have, could have, should have were all I could come up with after I finally got around to reading the Bible midway through my fifty-eighth year of life. Being a retired English teacher, I have read my share of fine novels, short stories, plays, poems and letters over the years, each with its premise, lesson or moral. But the Bible, the most important literary work of all. I had deliberately avoided. I reasoned that "not knowing" would somehow diminish my accountability for the flaws of my imperfect existence. Ignorance was almost bliss for a while. This cop out was working just fine for me until life threw me a succession of 140 mph fast and curve balls. I got beamed something fierce, but it knocked some much needed sense into me. Yes, there was a weighty price for my knowledgeable ignorance, but I believe I know that I'm better for it. So, look at me now....spreading the "good news" in the only humble way I know how. Who would have ever thought? The Holy Spirit? Only God knows. I do hope that you enjoy reading these verses and consider them heaven sent as I certainly do. It's the only way I can account for something or someone, God Almighty. The Spirit Made Me Do It.

Download or read book Sequin Soul written by Ketriana Yvonne and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2019-12-26 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote these poems from my soul to help someone on the journey they may be walking. Life is like shiny sequins sometimes flashy most times you lose some pieces. Like the fabric when you rub the pattern of sequin in one direction against the grain it may be rough in the other direction it will be smooth; such is my metaphor for my life. Like the fabric of life in spite of a few tugs that leave a space or two without sequins. I still maintain and shine just the same. My life has been a purposeful journey to birth this book of poetry it’s a part of fulfilling my purpose to inspire through words. We all have an audience to reach and we have something to contribute to this world through our experiences. I grew up reading Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s books from the first to the last. The impact of his words were jewels that made my life challenges lessons for my spiritual growth. I hope these simple poems ordered from A to Z will reveal some positive revelations I found to help me on my journey through life. Just pick a problem and open the book to any poem you will have a new perspective on any situation; if you like just sit back and enjoy from beginning to end. Things will happen in life the most important thing to remember is you are love, remain whole and keep shining your light. Therefore, I present poetry from my spirit entitled Sequin Soul.

Book Synopsis The Spirit of Japanese Poetry by : Yone Noguchi
Download or read book The Spirit of Japanese Poetry written by Yone Noguchi and published by Graphic Arts Books. This book was released on 2021-03-24 with total page 63 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Spirit of Japanese Poetry (1914) is a collection of essays by Yone Noguchi. Although he is widely recognized as a leading poet in English and Japanese of the modernist period, Noguchi was also a dedicated literary critic who advocated for the cross-pollination of national poetries. His essays on the Noh drama and Hokku poems influenced Ezra Pound, William Butler Yeats, and countless other artists from the West. “Not only the English poetry, but any poetry of any country, is bound to become stale and stupid if it shuts itself up for too long a time; it must sooner or later be rejuvenated and enlivened with some new force.” For Noguchi, it is not only educational to immerse oneself in the art of other cultures, but vital for those cultures to flourish. As a Japanese poet who excelled with a modern, free verse style of English poetry, Noguchi advocated for his contemporaries to attempt a similar radical openness—to possibility, uncertainty, and change. In these brilliant, instructive essays, he provides his understanding of the spiritual, otherworldly nature of Japanese poetry, reflects on the function of silence in the traditional Noh drama, and praises the lyric essence of Hokku poems. With a beautifully designed cover and professionally typeset manuscript, this edition of Yone Noguchi’s The Spirit of Japanese Poetry is a classic of Japanese American literature reimagined for modern readers.
