Book Synopsis The Relationship Between Chaotic Events and Credit Union Leadership Practices by : Dr. Paul Withey
Download or read book The Relationship Between Chaotic Events and Credit Union Leadership Practices written by Dr. Paul Withey and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-06-01 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organizational crises, in modern society, requires an immediate response. Chaotic stages occur during organizational changes resulting in emotional experiences for leaders who develop intense feelings of anger, shock, and frustration. Leaders who are not prepared will be overwhelmed by the need for an aggressive response to change. The ability to solve problems successfully will increase movement of the organization though the chaos stage. Building a foundation of preparation for a leader, prior to the organizational change stage, will decrease levels of dysfunction the organization may experience. It is time for a new approach to managing organizational chaos. The research in this book provides original contributions to leadership studies by applying general systems and chaos theory to leadership behaviors in times of crisis. Chaos theory offers different perspectives that will allow leaders to develop capacities for changing their existing approaches to chaotic events. Results from the research in this study are valuable to credit union leaders, and also all business leaders, who need new models that recognize external factors influencing the sustainability of the organization. This adaptability is one of the most effective leadership skills a leader can display (Higgs & Rowland, 2005). Introducing general systems and chaos theory into organizational leadership has become a new approach to leadership psychology and philosophy, promising to influence leadership and management theories (Bums, 2002). The significance of chaos theory for leadership studies lies in its heuristic power. If the challenges to normal events are observed through the lens of chaos theory, organizational leaders may make better-informed decisions in times of uncertainty.

Book excerpt: Reflections on Life, Love, and Events That Shape Them This book is a departure from the books I've published in the past, which are mostly on business history and processes and several collections of poetry. This book of essays combines reflections on my own life experiences with thoughts on subjects including a look at what I see happening in our country today, thoughts on God and religion, the life of Anne Frank and her continuing influence today, directions in medicine and treatment, and several other topics. It also looks at my background in sports and how it exposed me to a broad range of people and events that fueled my knowledge and experience to support this book.
Book Synopsis Global Events and Event Stratigraphy in the Phanerozoic by : Otto H. Walliser
Download or read book Global Events and Event Stratigraphy in the Phanerozoic written by Otto H. Walliser and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 455 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The existence of rapid and even catastrophic turnovers within the Phanerozoic ecosystems has been discussed controversially for more than 170 years. Since 1980 this discussion has become even more intensive after the hypothesis of Alvarez, explaining the end-Cretaceous mass extinction as the result of a huge asteroid impact on the Earth. This theory stimulated several thousand papers and is still controversial. The international research programme on "Global Biological Events in Earth History" attempts to bring the discussion back to the facts by using multidisciplinary investigations of the major Phanerozoic events. The results of an international group of experts are presented giving a wealth of information and a thorough discussion of the causes of the various global events.
