Book Synopsis The Salvation Project by : Joe Rothstein
Download or read book The Salvation Project written by Joe Rothstein and published by Gold Standard Publications. This book was released on 2019-11-06 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: She’s a charismatic Mexican-American heiress, running for re-election as president of the United States. They are a ruthless international conspiracy with, literally, a killer agenda, willing to do anything required to defeat her. The Salvation Project is a secret conspiracy of international elites convinced that democracy is a hopelessly inadequate and dangerous form of government to cope with the multiple existential threats posed by global warming, nuclear proliferation, artificial intelligence, genetic editing, and other advanced science emerging from the world’s laboratories. The Salvation Project’s goal: take control of the world's most powerful and scientifically advanced nations and create a global autocracy, with the United States as the most important target. U.S. President Isabel Aragon Tennyson (“Tenny,” as the world knows her) is running for reelection, unaware of the Salvation Project, the threat it poses to democracy in the U.S. and elsewhere, or the fact that her election opponent is a Manchurian-like candidate who would deliver the keys to the White House to Salvation Project leaders. The election will determine not just who will be president, but the future of democracy, and perhaps the future of humanity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More times than not people tend to go off of what they are told, rather than finding out for themselves. As an example, I was at work one day and we were told to move some product: however too many people were talking and I heard someone say, 'Take it in the shop.' Without finding out for myself, I took the product into the shop. I got reprimanded for it and rightfully so. Because even though I was wrong people fallowed my lead and the mistake coasted us time. The same kind of habits are practiced tend to be practiced among Men regarding bot Politics and Religion. In all three cases nothing is done to check the facts. With Religion, people tend to want to believe the way they were raise, the same goes for politics. Most voters will admit that they belong to the same political party that their parents did before them, due to a sense of tradition. However, the same people will not tell me why they voted the way they did on the issues much less what the issues is that they voted on. The Bible says, 'Study to show yourself approved' (2 Timothy 2:15). If you don't have time to study the issues don't vote! A reckless voter is far worse than a nonvoter, for the reckless voter is likely to get caught up in the passion of the Mob and vote in the direction they want him to. In fact I think the press should stop covering an election about six months before it is held so the media bias can be counter acted. People say it is your civic duty to vote. I sat it is only your civic duty to make an informed responsible vote. Tomas Jefferson was correct in saying, "Democracy can only work if the people can remain educated.--Back cover.
Book Synopsis The Medieval Economy of Salvation by : Adam J. Davis
Download or read book The Medieval Economy of Salvation written by Adam J. Davis and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2019-12-15 with total page 485 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Medieval Economy of Salvation, Adam J. Davis shows how the burgeoning commercial economy of western Europe in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, alongside an emerging culture of Christian charity, led to the establishment of hundreds of hospitals and leper houses. Focusing on the county of Champagne, he looks at the ways in which charitable organizations and individuals—townspeople, merchants, aristocrats, and ecclesiastics—saw in these new institutions a means of infusing charitable giving and service with new social significance and heightened expectations of spiritual rewards. In tracing the rise of the medieval hospital during a period of intense urbanization and the transition from a gift economy to a commercial one, Davis makes clear how embedded this charitable institution was in the wider social, cultural, religious, and economic fabric of medieval life.

Book Synopsis Water, Civilisation and Power in Sudan by : Harry Verhoeven
Download or read book Water, Civilisation and Power in Sudan written by Harry Verhoeven and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2015-03-05 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1989, a secretive movement of Islamists allied itself to a military cabal to violently take power in Africa's biggest country. Sudan's revolutionary regime was built on four pillars - a new politics, economic liberalisation, an Islamic revival, and a U-turn in foreign relations - and mixed militant conservatism with social engineering: a vision of authoritarian modernisation. Water and agricultural policy have been central to this state-building project. Going beyond the conventional lenses of famine, 'water wars' or the oil resource curse, Harry Verhoeven links environmental factors, development, and political power. Based on years of unique access to the Islamists, generals, and business elites at the core of the Al-Ingaz Revolution, Verhoeven tells the story of one of Africa's most ambitious state-building projects in the modern era - and how its gamble to instrumentalise water and agriculture to consolidate power is linked to twenty-first-century globalisation, Islamist ideology, and intensifying geopolitics of the Nile.

Could the Supreme Court's ruling that defines the First Amendments separation of Church and State clause in 1972 have contributed to these trends? Is it possible that many of the human trends are being intentionally designed to corrupt the American understanding of freedom? If so, who benefits?
Download or read book Salvation written by Peter F. Hamilton and published by Del Rey. This book was released on 2018-09-04 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanity’s complex relationship with technology spirals out of control in this first book of an all-new series from “the owner of the most powerful imagination in science fiction” (Ken Follett). “How far ‘space opera’ has come! The Old Masters of sci-fi would admire the scope and sweep of Salvation.”—The Wall Street Journal In the year 2204, humanity is expanding into the wider galaxy in leaps and bounds. Cutting-edge technology of linked jump gates has rendered most forms of transportation—including starships—virtually obsolete. Every place on Earth, every distant planet humankind has settled, is now merely a step away from any other. All seems wonderful—until a crashed alien spaceship of unknown origin is found on a newly located world eighty-nine light-years from Earth, carrying a cargo as strange as it is horrifying. To assess the potential of the threat, a high-powered team is dispatched to investigate. But one of them may not be all they seem. . . . Bursting with tension and big ideas, Peter F. Hamilton’s Salvation is the first book of an all-new series that highlights the inventiveness of an author at the top of his game. Praise for Salvation “[A] vast, intricate sci-fi showstopper . . . The journey grips just as hard as the reveal.”—Daily Mail (U.K.) “Exciting, wildly imaginative and quite possibly Hamilton’s best book to date.”—SFX “Dynamic, multifaceted characters, strong mind-expanding concepts, and impressive flair for language [make Salvation a] rare celestial event. . . . One of Britain’s bestselling sci-fi authors has launched an addictive new book as the initial stage of what is sure to be an intriguing new series called the Salvation Sequence.”—SyFyWire “Peter Hamilton just keeps getting better and better with each book, more assured and more craftsmanly adroit, and more inventive. [Salvation is] a bravura performance from start to finish. . . . Hamilton is juggling chainsaws while simultaneously doing needlepoint over a shark tank. It’s a virtuoso treat, and I for one can hardly wait for Salvation Lost.”—Paul Di Filippo, Locus “Peter F. Hamilton is known as one of the world’s greatest sci-fi writers for a reason. . . . Salvation is well worth the effort and a great introduction to some good old-fashioned space opera.”—Fantasy Book Review
