Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Rosicrucian Fraternity announced their existence some four centuries ago. Since then there has been much speculation about the brotherhood regarding their secrets, their history, and their existence. Time has spawned numerous imitators, voluble detractors, and earnest defenders of the Fraternity. The only certainty lies in the early manuscripts and publications; these works are presented together in this volume. Herein are all of the crucial Rosicrucian documents. The Fama Fraternitatis proclaims the existence of the brotherhood to the world and calls for sincere Christian reformation. The Confessio Fraternitatis gives more details on their history and teachings. The Chemical Wedding is considered by some to be a key alchemical work by the brotherhood. When the Fama was first printed, it was accompanied by the by Trajano Bocalini. Each of these works is presented in an early English translation, along with the original prefaces. Also included is Thomas Vaughn's lenghty preface to the first English publication of Fama and Confession This edition includes introductions to every Rosiucrucian work, useful footnotes, historical information, and latin, german and greek translations from noted Rosicrucian scholar Benedict J. Williamson. Williamson has compared numerous translations of the various works to produce the most authoritative and accurate version to date of these forgotten historical treasures.

Book excerpt: "My purpose was to comply with the desires of the publishers in preparing and presenting an easily readable, enjoyable, and fascinating account of the lost Continent of Lemuria, with all of its past history, effects upon the races of man, and ancient, human incidents of life.(...) I hope, therefore, that this book will make the subject more popular and arouse further interest in the investigation of the hundreds of available sources of information still untouched by those who have spent their lifetime seeking for positive facts. With this hope and with the further desire that what I have written may contribute to a better understanding of the development of the human individual in all of his physical, mental, spiritual, and so-called psychic qualities, I offer this work." Book Synopsis The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz by : Joscelyn Godwin
Download or read book The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz written by Joscelyn Godwin and published by Red Wheel/Weiser. This book was released on 1991-10-01 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz, often looked upon as the third Rosicrucian manifesto, has an entirely different tone from the other Rosicrucian documents. Unlike the Rosicrucian manifestoes, which address the transformation of society, The Chemical Wedding is concerned with the inner transformation of the soul. It is a deeply interior work, one which asks the reader to step into its world of symbols and walk with Christian Rosenkreutz along his path of transformation. Despite its importance as a key text of the Western esoteric traditions, this is the first ever contemporary English translation of The Chemical Wedding, made especially for this edition by Joscelyn Godwin. Also included in this edition is an introduction and commentary by Adam McLean, which illuminates the transformative symbolism.

Book Synopsis Reformation, Revolution, Renovation by : Lyke de Vries
Download or read book Reformation, Revolution, Renovation written by Lyke de Vries and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-12-13 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the centre of the Rosicrucian manifestos was a call for ‘general reformation’. In Reformation, Revolution, Renovation, the first book-length study of this topic, Lyke de Vries demonstrates the unique position of the Rosicrucian call for reform in the transformative context of the early seventeenth century. The manifestos, commonly interpreted as either Lutheran or esoteric, are here portrayed as revolutionary mission statements which broke dramatically with Luther’s reform ideals. Their call for reform instead resembles a variety of late medieval and early modern dissenting traditions as well as the heterodox movement of Paracelsianism. Emphasising the universal character of the Rosicrucian proposal for change, this new genealogy of the core idea sheds fresh light on the vexed question of the manifestos’ authorship and helps explain their tumultuous reception by both those who welcomed and those who deplored them.

Book Synopsis Unto Thee I Grant by : Sri Ramatherio
Download or read book Unto Thee I Grant written by Sri Ramatherio and published by . This book was released on 2014-07-02 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2014 Reprint of 1932 Sixth Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. Originally published as part of the Rosicrucian library Volume 5, this work is divided into 12 sections, and offers timeless advice on ethics, morality, man's duty to himself, his family and his society and his place in the universe. The book is thought by some to have been written by the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep IV during the years 1360 to 1350 B.C. More commonly known as Akenaton, the pharaoh is generally credited as being the founder of the world's earliest monotheistic religion. The language is poetic and the advice is timeless. Written in a style similar to the biblical Book of Proverbs, "Unto The I Grant" uses vivid sayings so its counsel will be easily remembered when needed. For example, when the author warns against seeking revenge for earthly slights, he writes: Revenge is painful in the intent, and it dangerous in the execution; seldom doth the axe fall where he who lifted it up intended; and lo, he remembereth not that it will recoil against him. It is noteworthy how true these discourses remain 3000 years after they were written. The sections on dealing with servants and subordinates are a text book modern managers could learn much from. Whether you are looking for a code of ethics, a manual for modern living or just good literature, Unto Thee I Grant would be a must for the library of any sincere seeker.
