Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stuart Chase (1888-1985) was an Economics graduate from MIT, and this was one of his many publications on the topic of socialism and Economics. The revival in interest in the book came after it was linked, by Glenn Beck, to a Barack Obama 2012 campaign video called "The Road We've Traveled." Beck made several links between Obama's presidential goals and the themes in Chase's book: strong centralized government, Control of banking, credit and security exchanges, Underwriting of food, housing and medical care by the government, and Use of deficit spending to finance under writings among others. Another interesting literary tie in about the author was that early in his career he took a job with the Food Administration of the FTC with his fellow MIT classmates Walter Lippman, John Reed and T.S. Eliot. One of the cases Chase investigated at this post was corruption of the meatpacking industry with none other than Upton Sinclair. In 1942, Stuart Chase, in this book "The Road We Are Traveling" spelled out the system of planning the Fabian Socialists had in mind.

Book excerpt: Politicians may be sleazy and spineless, but they're not stupid. The candidate who tells the people what they want to hear is usually the one who wins -- facts be damned. The only way to break the cycle is to understand why Americans fall for the deception over and over again. Beck reveals the startlingly simple answer: fear. Progressives from both parties exploit this by offering solutions that are based on two things: lies, and an unrelenting hunger for power and control.

Book excerpt: Here is the antidote to the left's sinister push to use a worldwide crisis to infuse our lives with the values of collasal statism and dystopian self-hatred, all accelerated by the duplicitous manipulation of the recent pandemic. From the nationally best-selling author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Climate Change. Welcome to 2030. I own nothing, have no privacy, and life has never been better. This is the vision of the Great Reset, according to globalist leaders. While proponents of the Great Reset push slogans like “Build Back Better,” “The Fourth Industrial Revolution,” and “A New Normal,” the Reset is nothing short of a rebranded Soviet system, threatening to strip away property rights, restrict freedom of movement and association, and radically reshape our diets and way of life. In The Great Reset: Global Elites and the Permanent Lockdown, bestselling author and ClimateDepot.com publisher, Marc Morano, unveils the origins of the Great Reset, who is behind it, how it is being implemented, and how COVID-19 and the alleged “climate emergency” accelerated its imposition on the United States. Packed with telling statistics and damning quotes, The Great Reset is the essential handbook for the public, the media, and activists on how to critically analyze and expose the tyrannical policies silently strangling our liberties today.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study lets weapons designers, producers, and testers speak for themselves. They speak about their work during the Vietnam War and about those who criticized them for doing that work. In doing so, the book increases our understanding of professionals and professionalism by examining the social, political, and cultural factors that shape career choices and affect attitudes toward jobs and toward employing organizations. It creates a typology of the high-level engineers and scientists in the industry within an analysis of the overall structure of that industry. Persons involved in or opposed to weapons production (as well as involved in or opposed to other controversial work) will value the difficult-to-find information presented in this book on the effects of the war on weapons industry personnel. The practical conclusions drawn by the author are for "government" but also for universities, research organizations, corporations, and for those opposed to the whole industry.

Book excerpt: This book details the dramatic history of the weaponization of avant-garde art as propaganda, from its violent origins selling the idealistic communism of revolutionary France to its use as an American weapon wielded against the Nazi and Soviet threat as World War II began. It shows how art became ammunition in the war of ideas as the protagonists of the Second World War attempted to control the minds of their people. The text highlights how the avant-garde was the battlefield for the epic struggle between collectivism and American individualism, and will appeal to the reader with an interest in vivid stories of art, history, and politics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: American Isolationism Between the World Wars: The Search for a Nation's Identity examines the theory of isolationism in America between the world wars, arguing that it is an ideal that has dominated the Republic since its founding. During the interwar period, isolationists could be found among Republicans and Democrats, Catholics and Protestants, pacifists and militarists, rich and poor. While the dominant historical assessment of isolationism — that it was "provincial" and "short-sighted" — will be examined, this book argues that American isolationism between 1919 and the mid-1930s was a rational foreign policy simply because the European reversion back to politics as usual insured that the continent would remain unstable. Drawing on a wide range of newspaper and journal articles, biographies, congressional hearings, personal papers, and numerous secondary sources, Kenneth D. Rose suggests the time has come for a paradigm shift in how American isolationism is viewed. The text also offers a reflection on isolationism since the end of World War II, particularly the nature of isolationism during the Trump era. This book will be of interest to students and scholars of U.S. Foreign Relations and twentieth-century American history.
