Preliminary material includes a review of related literature and an overview of programs for learning disabled youths in North America. 20 helping and law professionals were surveyed to determine their views of young offenders while 23 young offenders were surveyed to identify perceptions concerning school experiences as related to learning difficulties and disruptive behaviour. Findings pertaining to the hypothesis that learning disabled students are more susceptible to delinquency due to certain personality traits were inconclusive. Recommendations include: that school records of young offenders be made a mandatory part of reviews; that study be done of the Susceptibility Rationale; and that a second survey be designed and an interview component added in future surveys to strengthen design.
