Book excerpt: Reality and the supernatural collide when an expert puzzle maker is thrust into an ancient mystery—one with explosive consequences for the fate of humanity—in this suspenseful thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of Angelology “This novel has it all and more. In the nimble, talented hands of Trussoni the pages fly.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci A BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR: The Washington Post, PopSugar, Bookreporter, CrimeReads All the world is a puzzle, and Mike Brink—a celebrated and ingenious puzzle constructor—understands its patterns like no one else. Once a promising Midwestern football star, Brink was transformed by a traumatic brain injury that caused a rare medical condition: acquired savant syndrome. The injury left him with a mental superpower—he can solve puzzles in ways ordinary people can’t. But it also left him deeply isolated, unable to fully connect with other people. Everything changes after Brink meets Jess Price, a woman serving thirty years in prison for murder who hasn’t spoken a word since her arrest five years before. When Price draws a perplexing puzzle, her psychiatrist believes it will explain her crime and calls Brink to solve it. What begins as a desire to crack an alluring cipher quickly morphs into an obsession with Price herself. She soon reveals that there is something more urgent, and more dangerous, behind her silence, thrusting Brink into a hunt for the truth. The quest takes Brink through a series of interlocking enigmas, but the heart of the mystery is the God Puzzle, a cryptic ancient prayer circle created by the thirteenth-century Jewish mystic Abraham Abulafia. As Brink navigates a maze of clues, and his emotional entanglement with Price becomes more intense, he realizes that there are powerful forces at work that he cannot escape. Ranging from an upstate New York women’s prison to nineteenth-century Prague to the secret rooms of the Pierpont Morgan Library, The Puzzle Master is a tantalizing, addictive thriller in which humankind, technology, and the future of the universe itself are at stake.

Top it off with a mansion filled with puzzles, how could you go wrong? Three clever, adventurous siblings are invited to go on a pirate treasure hunt buy their Grandfather’s Last Will And Testament. They must put their lives on hold to fulfill their Grandfather’s last wish and try and find the treasure that he could not. This hunt for riches takes them across the globe to a holiday resort. There they must follow a journal to discover a two hundred year old stash of Pirate booty. However, their quest leads them to a mysterious puzzle mansion, with many rules and a short time limit. Will the treasure be found, or will something unexpected rock their world? In this volume, the main character set out on their quest to find a two-hundred year old pirate treasure. However, they discover that this treasure is not as easy to find as they had hoped. This book was inspired by many adventure movies and T.V. shows. The main one being, The Goonies movie. So if that movie puts a smile on your face, then so will this book. A few other things that inspired this book were things like National Treasure and any one of the Treasure Island versions. Look out for references from things like Disney's/Lucas Film's Star Wars, Capcom’s Megaman and a certain potato chip slogan. This book was written for the young and old alike. There is no language and little violence so the younger ordinance will not be mentally scarred. However, there are some complicated puzzles and riddles that the more mature people might like trying to solve before the characters do. This book is a good-old, funny, family friendly adventure that has a little for everyone. Action, adventure, comedy, romance and pirates. Can't forget the pirates. This isn't one of those stories that has an unrealistic plot, that makes up crazy things to fill in plot holes. This plot is rational, plausible and not too complicated. But most of all, it is still loads of fun, interesting and funny.

Oscar Piper doesn’t belong on Mexican trains. A New York City detective, he’s in the Dominican Republic as part of an international delegation come to cut the ribbon on a new transcontinental highway. This grants him the honor of a trip to Mexico City on the hottest, dustiest train in North America—a crowded slow coach that’s about to become a crime scene. The alderman’s wife does not know how the bottle of Elixir d’Amour got into her bag. She only knows that when the porter smelled it, he dropped dead. She seems to have been the intended target for the poisoned perfume—but who would want to kill a corrupt politician’s trophy wife? Oscar sends a wire to his friend Hildegarde Withers, a schoolteacher and amateur sleuth, whom he knows will not wilt in the Mexican heat. Before she begins her investigation, she has only one question: “¿Cómo se dice ‘murder’?” The Puzzle of the Blue Banderilla is part of the Hildegarde Withers Mysteries series, which also includes The Penguin Pool Murder and Murder on the Blackboard.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Librarians and the Mother Goose Chase, an original novel based on the hit television show, The Librarians by New York Times bestselling author, Greg Cox. For millennia, the Librarians have secretly protected the world by keeping watch over dangerous magical relics. Cataloging and safeguarding everything from Excalibur to Pandora’s Box, they stand between humanity and those who would use the relics for evil. Stories have power. In 1719, Elizabeth Goose published a collection of rhyming spells as a children's book, creating a spellbook of terrifying power. The Librarian of that age managed to dispose of all copies of the book except one, which remained in the possession of Elizabeth Goose and her family, temporarily averting any potential disaster. Now, strange things are happening around the world. A tree-trimmer in Florida is blown off his elevated perch by a freak gust of wind, a woman in rural Pennsylvania is attacked by mutant rodents without any eyes, and a college professor in England finds herself trapped inside a prize pumpkin at a local farmer’s market. Baird and her team of Librarians suspect that the magic of Mother Goose is again loose in the world, and with Flynn AWOL—again—it is up to Cassandra, Ezekiel, and Stone to track down the missing spellbook before the true power of the rhymes can be unleashed. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
