Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The ministry of the Holy Spirit is not a luxury; it is an absolute necessity," writes celebrated author and respected pastor Warren Wiersbe. In his first of two books covering Acts, Be Dynamic focuses on Peter's ministry, mostly in Israel and centered in Jerusalem. Through explaining Luke's record of the Gospel's advancement and church expansion, Wiersbe opens the door to understanding the work of the church today. Using hard-hitting quotes from recognized names like St. Augustine and John Bunyan, Wiersbe proves himself as a well-read author and gifted writer. The depth of his study is astounding, yet the accessibility of his text for every age group is evident as well. He proves what Luke intended-for Acts to be interpreted not as the apostles' glorious acts, but as the life-changing acts of the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit lives in believers today, the same God calls followers to expand His church, and the same basic problems still arise within the church, but the same power available then is still available now to change the nations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing up the son of agnostics, John Koessler saw a Catholic church on one end of the street and a Baptist on the other. In the no-man’s land between the two, this curious outside wondered about the God they worshipped—and began a lifelong search to comprehend the grace and mystery of God. A Stranger in the House of God addresses fundamental questions and struggles faced by spiritual seekers and mature believers. Like a contemporary Pilgrim’s Progress, it traces the author’s journey and explores his experiences with both charismatic and evangelical Christianity. It also describes his transformation from religious outsider to ordained pastor. John Koessler provides a poignant and often humorous window into the interior of the soul as he describes his journey from doubt and struggle with the church to personal faith

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Suppose you could ask God any question and get an answer. What would it be? Young people all over the world have been asking those questions. So Neale Donald Walsch, author of the internationally bestselling Conversations with God series had another conversation. Conversations with God for Teens is a simple, clear, straight-to-the-point dialogue that answers teens questions about God, money, sex, love, and more. Conversations with God for Teens reads like a rap session at a church youth group, where teenagers discuss everything they ever wanted to know about life but were too afraid to ask God. Walsch acts as the verbal conduit, showing teenagers how easy it is to converse with the divine. When Claudia, age 16, from Perth, Australia, asks, "Why can't I just have sex with everybody? What's the big deal?", the answer God offers her is: "Nothing you do will ever be okay with everybody. 'Everybody' is a large word. The real question is can you have sex and have it be okay with you?" There's no doubt that the casual question-and-answer format will help make God feel welcoming and accessible to teens. Conversations with God for Teens is the perfect gift purchase for parents, grandparents, and anyone else who wants to provide accessible spiritual content for the teen(s) in their lives.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The greatest weapon of the enemy is division. If the enemy can divide and isolate you, he can easily destroy you. There is too much division throughout the world. Sadly, the church has been and continues to be divided even though it should be the example of unity, love, and oneness. This book, The Power of One Sound, will help you to understand the principles and importance of unity, one accord, and teamwork. Just as our physical bodies are made up of many organs and parts and each part is connected and relies on each other, we are all interdependent. Each member of our body serves different roles but are all important to its proper functioning. God the Creator created us in such a way that we need each other. That's why no one person is gifted to do everything. While some people have more gifts than others, there are some things that they are not gifted to do. Each person coming into this world was born with an inherent gift that is unique to them. God's original intent was that we work together using our inherent gifts to help each other. When we come together with one voice, one vision, and one goal, nothing can stop us. We see this in the building of the Tower of Babel. God had to stop them because their motive was wrong. Any group of people coming together on one accord with each individual using their gift will be successful in carrying out the mission, whether it's for good or bad. The principles of unity will work for whoever works it. That's why it is most important to work together for the good of all mankind. While countries, groups of people, organizations, and individuals work toward independence, God's design was not for us to be totally independent. It is important for us to be self-sufficient to a point, but at some point, we will need others to help us along the way. "There is no independence in the kingdom." There are many things that can cause us to be divided, such as greed, selfishness, anger, and hatred. That's why we are commanded to love one another because love is the greatest thing. It is very important to be tuned in to the right frequency and to not allow the wrong sound to enter our ear gate. It is most important to have the right mindset and connect to like-minded people. Unity is the greatest component of success. Once we become one with ourselves, then we can become one with others. Refine your gift so that when you come together, everyone would be giving their best. Always remember, "teamwork makes the dream work."

Book excerpt: RAVES ABOUT THE BOOK ONE ACCORD AN INSPIRATIONAL BOOK OF BIBLE PROMISES BY PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS ONE ACCORD is practical but steeped on spiritual strength that should keep us going penned by Ronald Jay Blassingame Ph.D., Terrence Vaughn, Cristina Manalo Vaughn and Felipe Cofreros holds us in accord to loop up when the going gets rough and tough. Amidst the cares and vicissitudes of earthly life, we need a book that reminds us to transcend what is here and now. We need a book that speaks of inspiration to meaningful living. In looking up in hope and looking deep within us in faith, we are reminded that our sojourn from here to eternity is one of a unique travel spiced by travails that test the veracity of our humanity. We are not alone though. We are accompanied by Him who holds us by the hand. With the eyes of faith we can see through the dark; we can feel the joy of just being alive. A great book indeed that speaks from the fiber of our being both human and spiritual and the authors must be inspired by Him who calls us by our name. Seymour (1870–1922) preached Pentecostal revival at the Azusa Street mission in Los Angeles. From these and other humble origins the movement has blossomed to 631 million people around the world. Gastón Espinosa provides new insight into the life and ministry of Seymour, the Azusa Street revival, and Seymour's influence on global Pentecostal origins. After defining key terms and concepts, he surveys the changing interpretations of Seymour over the past 100 years, critically engages them in a biography, and then provides an unparalleled collection of primary sources, all in a single volume. He pays particular attention to race relations, Seymour's paradigmatic global influence from 1906 to 1912, and the break between Seymour and Charles Parham, another founder of Pentecostalism. Espinosa's fragmentation thesis argues that the Pentecostal propensity to invoke direct unmediated experiences with the Holy Spirit empowers ordinary people to break the bottle of denominationalism and to rapidly indigenize and spread their message. The 104 primary sources include all of Seymour's extant writings in full and without alteration and some of Parham's theological, social, and racial writings, which help explain why the two parted company. To capture the revival's diversity and global influence, this book includes Black, Latino, Swedish, and Irish testimonies, along with those of missionaries and leaders who spread Seymour's vision of Pentecostalism globally.
