Lytle Robinson gives us a comprehensive interpretation of the fascinating story of our history and future here on earth, as given by the Edgar Cayce readings. The Edgar Cayce readings address the many questions whose answers have eluded us all in our quest for the truth about where we come from and where we are going. What is the story of our creation? Who were the “sons of gods” and the “daughters of men”? How does mythology fit in with our history? What is our purpose and destiny in the earth? This is a captivating account you will not be able to put down, or soon forget.
Book Synopsis The Origin and Destiny of Mankind by : Rev. Dr. Walter Johnson
Download or read book The Origin and Destiny of Mankind written by Rev. Dr. Walter Johnson and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-10-15 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to explain the origin and destiny of mankind. God made man in his own image and likeness. Man was in a holy state as God, but he disobeyed God and fell into sin. Only God could deliver man out of his situation. This book explains how God delivered man and what God expects of man while he is on this earth. Man has to go through three processes. He has to go through justification, sanctification, and glorification. We will explain each stage. Justification deals with man’s salvation, and sanctification deals with man everyday living. But glorification takes place at death. Man is glorified when he goes through the grave, is resurrected to a new life, and is carried to be with the Lord. Before man is glorified, he has to go before the judgment seat of Christ and give an account of his stewardship. There are two judgments—one for the believer and one for nonbeliever. The final question is, does the believer live under the law of Moses or under the grace of God? These are questions that we will be dealing with. My prayer is that you will be blessed as you study this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A deeply learned and spiritually enriching book by a mature evangelical scholar that brings the doctrine of Christ and the human together at the point of the image of God. . . . Hughe's skills as both a biblical scholar and a historical and systematic theologian are very evident in this work, which is his best book yet." - Clark H. Pinnock, McMaster Divinity College "In this wide-ranging biblical, historical, and theological study a versatile veteran makes convincing use lf the concept of the divine image to integrate the doctrines of man and Christ. Philip Hughe's biblical bases are solid, his exposition weighty, and his historical interactions judicious and enlightening. This is a very valuable piece of work." - J. I. Packer, Regent College "We have come to expect both solid learning and exquisite literary style from Philip Edgcumbe Hughes. "The True Image" is no exception. Indeed it is a remarkable piece of work, quarried from a lifetime of study in biblical exegesis, systematic theology, and church history. It is encyclopedic in its discussion of anthropology and Christology and their mutual relationship. The novitate will find it instructive, while the theologically advanced will discover comprehensive exposition married to a scholarly judgment that sometimes resurrects classical views, sometimes provides the unexpected, and on occasion surprises with the controversial." - Sinclair B. Ferguson, Westminster Theological Seminary

Book Synopsis Dignity and Destiny by : John F. Kilner
Download or read book Dignity and Destiny written by John F. Kilner and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2015-01-08 with total page 414 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Misunderstandings about what it means for humans to be created in God's image have wreaked devastation throughout history -- for example, slavery in the U. S., genocide in Nazi Germany, and the demeaning of women everywhere. In Dignity and Destiny John Kilner explores what the Bible itself teaches about humanity being in God's image. He discusses in detail all of the biblical references to the image of God, interacts extensively with other work on the topic, and documents how misunderstandings of it have been so problematic. People made according to God's image, Kilner says, have a special connection with God and are intended to be a meaningful reflection of him. Because of sin, they don't actually reflect him very well, but Kilner shows why the popular idea that sin has damaged the image of God is mistaken. He also clarifies the biblical difference between being God's image (which Christ is) and being in God's image (which humans are). He explains how humanity's creation and renewal in God's image are central, respectively, to human dignity and destiny. Locating Christ at the center of what God's image means, Kilner charts a constructive way forward and reflects on the tremendously liberating impact that a sound understanding of the image of God can have in the world today.

Download or read book On Mankind written by Arthur Dyot Thomson and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-05-19 with total page 854 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from On Mankind: Their Origin and Destiny In ancient times this was not the case, as will presently be shown. Theology was based upon such science as existed at that time, and Science and Theology were consequently in harmony with each other. This harmony has long ceased to exist in consequence of the rapid progress which Science has made, while Theology has remained unchanged. One great cause of this has been that adherence to the literal interpretation of the Scriptures which has prevailed for more than a thousand years to the exclusion of every other, although St. Jerome has said The most difficult and Obscure of the holy books contain as many secrets as they do words: that is to say too little: they conceal many things under each word. Several learned works have been written to explain the secret, that is the real, meaning Of these books, and this volume contains a brief abstract Of the most impor tant of these, which are wholly unknown to English readers, combined with much original matter and information from other sources.
