This book was released on 1990-10-24 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Topics discussed in this book cover all aspects of combustion from the mechanics and formation of toxic pollutants and their transport/fate in the environment to emission abatement and risk assessment. Leading experts in the field have contributed information from studies ranging from fundamental bench-scale investigations to risk assessment of existing large-scale municipal incinerators. This book will be a valuable reference for scientists, engineers, administrators and environmentalists who must deal with the complex issues of waste management and environmental protection.
Book Synopsis The National Incinerator Testing and Evaluation Program by : Flakt Canada Ltd
Download or read book The National Incinerator Testing and Evaluation Program written by Flakt Canada Ltd and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A series of comprehensive tests on two pilot-scale air pollution control systems were conducted. The tests were designed to determine thecapability of these systems to control emissions of dioxins, other traceorganics, metals and acid gases. Field testing was completed inAugust/September, 1985, for two different designs: one using a wet-dryscrubber plus fabric filter and the other using a dry scrubber plus fabricfilter. Many different operating conditions were tested to identify optimum removal efficiencies for all pollutants of concern. Final resultswere very significant. Fluid gas temperature was found to be an importantoperating variable for achieving high removal efficiency for many of thepollutants measured.

Book Synopsis Health Effects of Municipal Waste Incineration by : Curtis C. Travis
Download or read book Health Effects of Municipal Waste Incineration written by Curtis C. Travis and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1990-12-07 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This much-needed book provides an enlightening perspective on the environmental and human health impacts of municipal solid waste (MSW) incineration. Over 100 tables and figures allows speedy access to important data you will refer to again and again. The comprehensive text assesses the human health risks associated with exposure to facility emitted pollutants-especially the highly toxic dioxin. It includes an evaluation of multipathway (inhalation and food chain) exposures. This essential publication also evaluates facility emissions, plausible air concentrations, the potential for deposition of pollutants onto plant, soil, and water surfaces, the movement and accumulation of pollutants through environmental media, and the potential for human exposure. Health Effects of Municipal Waste Incineration is an up-to-date volume which encourages readers to formulate opinions about some of the fundamental issues affecting the management of municipal solid waste. Anyone involved with environmental science, hazardous waste, toxicology, risk analysis and/or environmental engineering will certainly value and utilize this well-written resource.
