This book was released on 2018-08-04 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first phase of the Modern Technology Rotor Program, the Modern Rotor Aerodynamic Limits Survey, was a flight test conducted by the United States Army Aviation Engineering Flight Activity for NASA Ames Research Center. The test was performed using a United States Army UH-60A Black Hawk aircraft and the United States Air Force HH-60A Night Hawk instrumented main-rotor blade. The primary purpose of this test was to gather high-speed, steady-state, and maneuvering data suitable for correlation purposes with analytical prediction tools. All aspects of the data base, flight-test instrumentation, and test procedures are presented and analyzed. Because of the high volume of data, only select data points are presented. However, access to the entire data set is available upon request. Cross, J. and Brilla, J. and Kufeld, R. and Balough, D. Ames Research Center NASA-TM-4446, A-91183, NAS 1.15:4446 RTOP 505-59-36...

Book Synopsis A Survey of Theoretical and Experimental Coaxial Rotor Aerodynamic Research by : National Aeronautics and Space Adm Nasa
Download or read book A Survey of Theoretical and Experimental Coaxial Rotor Aerodynamic Research written by National Aeronautics and Space Adm Nasa and published by . This book was released on 2018-10-22 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The recent appearance of the Kamov Ka-50 helicopter and the application of coaxial rotors to unmanned aerial vehicles have renewed international interest in the coaxial rotor configuration. This report addresses the aerodynamic issues peculiar to coaxial rotors by surveying American, Russian, Japanese, British, and German research. (Herein, 'coaxial rotors' refers to helicopter, not propeller, rotors. The intermeshing rotor system was not investigated.) Issues addressed are separation distance, load sharing between rotors, wake structure, solidity effects, swirl recovery, and the effects of having no tail rotor. A general summary of the coaxial rotor configuration explores the configuration's advantages and applications. Coleman, Colin P. Ames Research Center RTOP 522-31-12; RTOP 522-41-22...
Book Synopsis Wind Energy Storage and Conversion by : Inamuddin
Download or read book Wind Energy Storage and Conversion written by Inamuddin and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-05-23 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive guide to the benefits and developments of wind energy, including energy storage and conversion methods, making it a must-read for those interested in sustainable energy. By going through this book, one can learn more about the usefulness of adopting renewable energies, particularly in light of the widespread use of wind-based devices. Here, we present an in-depth presentation of several developments in wind technological systems, focusing on applications and operational approaches. With the depletion of fossil fuel-based energy resources, the development of alternative sources of energy is becoming extremely crucial. Meanwhile, the planet is on the brink of an energy disaster due to the rapidly rising global need for energy. Additionally, the widespread usage of fossil fuel-based energy resources is aggravating global warming and harming the environment. However, there are reliable and eco-friendly substitutes to fossil fuels, for example wind and many other sustainable energies. Considering its low operational costs and easy accessibility, wind is among the most cost-effective and efficient renewable energies. With the increased use of wind energy, the need for storage has become critical. In addition to various storage procedures, fuel cells and batteries are two primary sources of compensation for RE systems. The wind technological system is on the cusp of development, but numerous improvements are required to make this technology overall cost-efficient. In this book, various energy storage and conversion methods for wind power applications are explored. Additionally, this work covers the costs associated with electrical output in wind-powered power plants as well as the financial and environmental plans that describe the installation of wind technology systems.
