Book Synopsis Transport in Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Structures by : Hamid Bentarzi
Download or read book Transport in Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Structures written by Hamid Bentarzi and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-01-12 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on the importance of mobile ions presented in oxide structures, what significantly affects the metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) properties. The reading starts with the definition of the MOS structure, its various aspects and different types of charges presented in their structure. A review on ionic transport mechanisms and techniques for measuring the mobile ions concentration in the oxides is given, special attention being attempted to the Charge Pumping (CP) technique associated with the Bias Thermal Stress (BTS) method. Theoretical approaches to determine the density of mobile ions as well as their distribution along the oxide thickness are also discussed. The content varies from general to very specific examples, helping the reader to learn more about transport in MOS structures.

Book excerpt: Metal is a marvelous material, but until recently it's been a foreign currency among general crafters, who feared that "metalworking" required pig iron, a blast furnace, and the musculature of a village blacksmith. Not true. Here are 50 gorgeous things to make from extra-thin sheet metals and foils in shimmering copper, aluminum, brass, tin, and pewter. And, just for fun, there are projects from mesh, tin cans, flashing, wire, ready-made metal objects, recycled materials, and found metal. Readers will learn about useful tools and basic techniques for working with metal, none of them esoteric. They'll learn to mark, drill, cut, smooth, bend, and form metal, along with some easy ways to decorate it--hammering, punching, piercing, stamping, and embossing. They'll learn easy means of attachment, such as soldering and Pop-riveting. They'll discover how to apply paint and patinas. Then, they'll choose among 50 diverse, easy-to-make projects and proceed to create as many stunning objects as they like. Between projects, they'll browse through a gallery of beautiful metalwork by expert designer/crafters.

Book Synopsis Physics of Metal-Nonmetal Transitions by : F. Yonezawa
Download or read book Physics of Metal-Nonmetal Transitions written by F. Yonezawa and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 2017-10-18 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Material undergoes the transformation from metal to non-metal or from non-metal to metal when environmental conditions, such as temperature and pressure, or the percentages of constituent components are changed. Such a transition is known as the metal-nonmetal (M-NM) transition. This book, 'The Physics of Metal – Nonmetal Transitions', explores the mechanisms so far discovered which cause the M-NM transition and presents a systematic discussion of them. All the mechanisms are discussed in terms of energy bands, and the band theory is introduced and explained in chapter 2. Once chapters 1 and 2 have been assimilated, the remaining chapters can be read independently of each other if required. The mechanisms discussed therein include the Peierls transition, the Bloch-Wilson transitions – types I and II respectively – the second of which was discovered by the author and her students. Subsequent chapters cover the Anderson transition and the Mott transition, and each chapter includes not only traditional theories, but also updated information about more recent research. The book can be used either as a textbook for undergraduate and postgraduate students of science and technology or as an introductory treatise for researchers in a wide variety of fields.
