Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Underneath Everything is a seductive, gorgeously written debut about two girls bound by an obsessive and toxic friendship, perfect for fans of Lauren Oliver and Courtney Summers. Mattie shouldn't be at the bonfire. She should be finding new maps for her collection, hanging out with Kris, and steering clear of almost everyone else, especially Jolene. After all, Mattie and Kris dropped off the social scene the summer after sophomore year for a reason. But now Mattie is a senior, and she's sick of missing things. So here she is. And there's Jolene: Beautiful. Captivating. Just like the stories she wove. Mattie would know—she used to star in them. She and Jolene were best friends. Mattie has the scar on her palm to prove it, and Jolene has everything else, including Hudson. But when Mattie runs into Hudson and gets a glimpse of what could have been, she decides to take it all back: the boyfriend, the friends, the life she was supposed to live. Problem is, Mattie can't figure out where Jolene's life ends and hers begins. Because there's something Mattie hasn't told anyone: She walked away from Jolene over a year ago, but she never really left.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pat’s “The Best For Last” book begins with fiction, then memoir, about a portion of her life, and ends with fiction. Pat began writing this book many years ago. As her life progressed so did the book. It starts with the main character happy and thankful for her new life with the man of her dreams. Then, she thinks back about her childhood, her marriage, divorce, and living with abuse. For many years Pat experienced terrible verbal and emotional abuse. She wrote the book to expose the effects of this abuse. Her desire is to help any person going through anything like what she experienced, “Get help or get out.” Pat’s advice is “do not waste valuable youth and years in such a hurtful, harmful, situation.” For Pat, her journey saw her born into poverty. Raised during the 1930’s depression. Ambitious at a young age. Working various jobs. A difficult life in a broken down trailer in Anchorage, Alaska. Much time spent in the “School of Hard Knocks.” She had success in real estate, and investing, only to lose it all. The devastating loss of the home she designed and had built, plus all the rental properties. All because of her wrong choices and wrong decisions. For those Pat paid dearly. The book reveals years and years of unhappiness. There were many stormy, hurtful years. Pat’s poems are scattered throughout the book. Poems taken from some seventeen hundred poems Pat has written over the years. In both the fiction ending, and the real life ending, Pat finally ended up with a man who truly loved her. He often told her she was the “love of his life.” She would find love and contentment and a happy marriage at last. God is good. God is so good.

Book excerpt: Part family drama, part contemporary thriller, Rule of Threes is a middle grade story about what happens when "perfect" is out of your control. An interior design enthusiast, twelve-year-old Maggie Owens is accustomed to living her life according to her own precise plans. But when she learns about Tony, a mysterious half-brother her own age who needs a place to stay, any semblance of a plan is shattered. Tony's mom struggles with an addiction to opioids, and now she's called upon Maggie's dad—who is also Tony's dad—to take him in. On top of everything, Maggie must also come to terms with the Alzheimer's afflicting her beloved grandmother. While Maggie can strive for—and even succeed in—a picture perfect design, when it comes to family, there is no such thing as perfection. To work through the sudden struggles rocking her world, Maggie must learn the importance of having an open heart. • A heart-wrenching, authentic, and darkly funny coming-of-age story • Addresses hard-hitting topics—such as divorce and substance abuse—with care and honesty • From Marcy Campbell, author of Adrian Simcox Does NOT Have a Horse Merci Suárez Changes Gears meets The Thing About Jellyfish in this compulsively readable novel. • Perfect for ages 10 and up • Appeals to those interested in stories about friendship and non-traditional families • Great for readers who love a bold and self-aware protagonist

Adrian Simcox tells anyone who will listen that he has a horse--the best and most beautiful horse anywhere. But Chloe does NOT believe him. Adrian Simcox lives in a tiny house. Where would he keep a horse? He has holes in his shoes. How would he pay for a horse? The more Adrian talks about his horse, the angrier Chloe gets. But when she calls him out at school and even complains about him to her mom, Chloe doesn't get the vindication she craves. She gets something far more important. Written with tenderness and poignancy and gorgeously illustrated, this book will show readers that kindness is always rewarding, understanding is sweeter than judgment, and friendship is the best gift one can give.
