This book was released on 2021-08-09 with total page 730 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Holy Quran literally meaning "the recitation"; also romanized as Qur'an or Koran is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from Allah (swt) (God). The Quran is divided into chapters (surah in Arabic), which are then divided into verses (ayah). Muslims believe that the Quran was verbally revealed by God to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel (Jibril), gradually over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning on 22 December 609 CE, when Prophet Muhammad SAW was 40, and concluding in 632, the year of his death. Muslims regard the Quran as the most important miracle of Prophet Muhammad SAW, a proof of his prophethood, and the culmination of a series of divine messages that started with the messages revealed to Prophet Adam (Pbuh) and ended with Prophet Muhammad SAW. The word "Quran" occurs some 70 times in the text of the Quran, although different names and words are also said to be references to the Quran. This particular edition was translated by two Madina based scholars Dr. Muhsin Khan and Dr. Taqi-ud-Din Hilali. It features frequent footnotes gleaned by the translators from Tafsir At-Tabari, Al-Qurtubi and Tafsir Ibn Kathir, and Sahih-al-Bukhari. It is unique, remarkable and distinguished for its crystal clear, precise and pristine meanings. The work is recognised, approved and widely attributed throughout the world. Offers commentary and hadith related to the verse. This unique combination of commentary and relevant Ahadith makes this a very useful study reference tool. This edition consists of the English Translation only. Rather than venture into the endless debate on the course of this evolutionary process, the author has chosen to examine the current Christian beliefs primarily on the basis of logic and reason. Among others, the subject of 'Sonship' of Jesus Christ, Atonement, Trinity and the second coming of the Messiah have been discussed at length in this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Note: ALL proceeds from the sale of this publication will go to charity. The Holy Quran is a compilation of 114 chapters, revealed to prophet Muhammad (pbuh) over a period of 23 years. However, the arrangement of these in the universally accepted Uthmanic Codex is different to the chronological order in which the divine verses were revealed. This book presents a chronological arrangement of the chapters in the Noble Quran, with the primary objectives as follows: to deliver a concise and yet a fundamental summary of the key life events of prophet Muhammad (pbuh); to present English translation of selected verses from the Quranic chapters; to provide a foundation understanding of the Quranic revelations in light of the life events of the Prophet and the circumstances prevalent at the time. This book has been kept short in length, with the intention that the reader is able to gain the essential familiarity with the subject matter, relatively easily. Although, much written work is available on the teachings of the Quran, the literature on the time-order arrangement of the divine revelations in the context of the events at the time, is rather scarce. In this respect, the book also aims to fill a gap that currently exists in this body of knowledge.

Book excerpt: Considered in Islam to be the infallible word of God, The Qur'an was revealed to the prophet Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel in a series of divine revelations over many years after his first vision in the cave. In 114 chapters, or surahs, it provides the rules of conduct that remain fundamental to Muslims today - most importantly the key Islamic values of prayer, fasting, pilgrimage and absolute faith in God, with profound spiritual guidance on matters of kinship, marriage and family, crime and punishment, rituals, food, warfare and charity. Through its pages, a fascinating picture emerges of life in seventh-century Arabia, and from it we can learn much about how people felt about their relationship with God and their belief in the afterlife, as well as attitudes to loyalty, friendship, race, forgiveness and the natural world. It also tells of events and people familiar to Christian and Jewish readers, fellow 'People of the Book' whose stories are recorded in the Gospels and Torah. Here we find Adam, Moses, Abraham, Jesus and John the Baptist, among others, who are regarded, like Muhammad, to be prophets of the Muslim faith.

Book excerpt: The untold story of how the Arabic Qur'an became the English Koran For millions of Muslims, the Qur'an is sacred only in Arabic, the original Arabic in which it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in the seventh century. To many Arab and non-Arab believers alike, the book literally defies translation, yet English translations are growing in both number and importance. Bruce Lawrence tells the remarkable story of the centuries-long quest to translate the Qur'an's lyrical verses—and to make English itself an Islamic language. A translation saga like no other, this panoramic book looks at cyber Korans, versions by feminist translators, and even a graphic Qur'an by the acclaimed visual artist Sandow Birk.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a detailed analysis of the translation of the Qur’an in Saudi Arabia, the most important global actor in the promotion, production and dissemination of Qur’an translations. From the first attempts at translation in the mid-twentieth century to more recent state-driven efforts concerned with international impact, The Kingdom and the Qur’an adeptly elucidates the link between contemporary Islamic theology and the advent of modern print culture. It investigates this critical juncture in both Middle Eastern political history and the intellectual evolution of the Muslim world, interweaving literary, socio-historical, and socio-anthropological threads to depict the intricate backdrop of the Saudi ‘Qur'an translation movement’. Mykhaylo Yakubovych provides a comprehensive historical overview of the debates surrounding the translatability of the Qur'an, as well as exploring the impact of the burgeoning translation and dissemination of the holy book upon Wahhabi and Salafi interpretations of Islam. Backed by meticulous research and drawing on a wealth of sources, this work illuminates an essential facet of global Islamic culture and scholarly discourse.
