Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the spring of 2015, I became very ill. For eighteen months, I could barely get off the couch. I was sick, had no energy, my anxiety went out of control, and I sank into a deep depression. In Compass to Healing: My Journey to Wellness, I share what happened to me when I finally gave up trying to fix, control, and micromanage the universe to protect my family and heal myself. Compass to Healing: My Journey to Wellness tells the story of my surrender to a higher power and the gifts and guidance that came to me in the form of a voice, signs, and messages, many of which I received from family, friends, and strangers, as I began to experiment with connecting, trusting, and communicating with that higher realm of power. In Compass to Healing: My Journey to Wellness, I begin to discover my own inner compass and a way out of fear and anxiety, and, in doing so, regain my health and courage and find myself gifted with miracles, faith, hope, and the great, healing love of family and friends—love that was there all along, and love that carried me through. I interpret my healing journey using the spiritual lens of the traditional, indigenous, Andean Medicine Wheel and its four cardinal directions. In Compass to Healing: My Journey to Wellness, my healing journey takes me south and west and brings me into contact with beautiful events, places, and people—each with something important to teach me.

Book Synopsis "New Negroes from Africa" by : Rosanne Marion Adderley
Download or read book "New Negroes from Africa" written by Rosanne Marion Adderley and published by Indiana University Press. This book was released on 2006 with total page 722 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1838, the British government outlawed the slave trade, emancipated all of the slaves in its possessions, and began to interdict slave ships en route to the Americas. Almost at once, colonies that had depended on slave labour were faced with a liberated and unwilling labour force. At the same time, newly freed slaves in Sierra Leone (and later from America and elsewhere) were "persuaded" to emigrate to other British colonies to provide a new workforce to replace or augment remnants of the old. Some became paid labourers, others indentured servants. These two groups - one, English-speaking colonists; the other, new African immigrants - are the focus of this study of "receptive" communities in the West Indies. Adderley describes the formation of these settlements, and, working from scant records, tries to tease out information about the families of liberated Africans, the labour they performed, their religions, and the culture they brought with them. She addresses issues of gender, ethnicity, and identity, and concludes with a discussion of repatriation.
Download or read book White Fox written by Gary Dallmann and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-09 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a story about a warrior of the People, the Dakota nation. After extensive research, Gary Dallmann chose to write a story that recounts the exploits of White Fox, a warrior who was elevated to chief of the Dakota nation at the young age of twenty eight. As chief, he faced many challenges. This kind, intelligent man proved to be the right choice since he had the welfare of his people paramount in his mind. This is also a gripping tale of misplaced revenge against White Fox by Broken Face, a fierce warrior of the Tree People. His obsession ended the lives of many warriors. Worry over a demented enemy would have been sufficient to age a seasoned chief but to make things worse White Fox's spirit helper sent a message warning him of a dangerous and seemingly demonic pack of wolves invading the Dakota hunting grounds. The wolves were killing indiscriminately and their evil sport was not restricted to animals.
