Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanity has been given access to the secrets of oneness, but we need to learn how to work with them. Working with Oneness brings mysticism into the center of the marketplace, into the world of business and technology, and shows how we can work with it in everyday life. The dynamic energy of oneness has the potential to heal the planet and revolutionize life more than we can imagine, but it requires our individual participation and awareness to become fully alive. The energy of oneness is already present but waiting to be lived, and Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee provides a blueprint for working consciously with this energy. As we understand how our consciousness affects the whole fabric of life, the potential for real global change comes alive. Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee stresses the need to change from hierarchical, patriarchal power structures to organic patterns that allow for the free flow of energy and ideas. Through these patterns the dynamic energy of oneness can become part of everyday life. Working with Oneness includes a number of additional important topics, including: the changing energy structure of the planet and how to work with it; the power of individual consciousness; the danger of the desire for spiritual security; the return of joy to everyday life; the awakening of the heart of the world; a new understanding of magic; the use of the imagination; and mystical participation in life with the energy of oneness. Working with Oneness offers guidance on how to work with the energy of oneness, to learn how to participate in life free of the patterns of the past, so that the divine can come alive in every moment of every day. Working with Oneness is mystical activism at its most potent. “There is a growing and eager audience waiting for a vision of unity consciousness... Working with Oneness offers a salutary antidote to worn-out antagonisms. It challenges readers to join other kindred souls in a mystical activism that can bring new hope to humanity.” —Spirituality & Health “A book filled with wonder and the kind of insights that can leap out to your heart and gladden you for having read them. It's words are simple and straightforward—always a blessing—but its message it the most vital and important for the time in which we live. I recommend it.” —David Spangler, author, Blessings: the Art and the Practice

Book excerpt: There is a place of balance, a place of peace and happiness in all things. The Middle Theory In The Middle Theory, an inspired book refined during nine eventful years, Deshon Fox reveals a powerful new philosophy based on the simple, but profound idea that balance is the guiding principle of all that supports life and progress. This philosophy, as rational as it is spiritual, affirms our common spiritual heritage, maps a straight path to enlightenment, and outlines practical approaches for fostering stable, meaningful relationships. Fox's lucid writing, his penetrating insights into the nature of balance as a corrective agent in our lives, is both timely and inspiring. Optimistically, he asserts that we can transform ourselves and our world through mindfulness, prayer, and adherence to universal spiritual principles. The Middle Theory's unique philosophy- reasoned and refreshingly sensible-empowers us to consistently choose the noble path that benefits us and others. The net result is not only personal happiness, but a life that contributes to the betterment of humanity. "The Middle Theory is one of the most extraordinary and most important books I've read in a long time. Basically a journey to discover the balance that we desperately crave in our personal lives as well as the balance that we desperately need on a global scale, this book deserves to be read over and over to fully appreciate the wisdom it holds....I will not forget this book anytime soon. Humankind cannot ignore its invaluable message any longer." -Collen Meyers, Education Specialist, University of Minnesota "Inner balance can be yours! Written from the heart of a trained engineer, The Middle Theory invites you to tackle change, fear, and grief by using your own gifts of discernment, compassion and self-love." -Kathleen O'Donovan, Ph.D., author of Super Woman's Rite of Passage: From midlife to whole life

Book excerpt: The idea that buildings could be used to reform human behaviour and improve society was fundamental to the 'modernist' architecture and planning of people like Walter Gropius, Le Corbusier and José Luis Sert in the first half of the 20th century. Their proposals for functional zoning, multi-level transport, high-rise living, and machine-inspired aesthetics came under attack from the 1950s onwards, and many alternative approaches to architecture and planning emerged. It was thought that the environmental determinist strand of the discourse was killed off at this time as well. This book argues that it was not, but on the contrary, that it has deepened and diversified. Many of the most prominent architect-planners continue to design with a view to improving the behaviour of individual people and of society at large. By looking at - and interviewing - major figures and movements of recent years in Britain, Europe and America, including Léon Krier, Peter Eisenman, Andrés Duany, Jane Jacobs, Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, it demonstrates the myriad ways that architect-planners seek to shape human behaviour through buildings. In doing so, the book raises awareness of this strand within the discourse and examines its different purposes and manifestations. It questions whether it is an ineradicable and beneficial part of architecture and planning, or a regrettable throwback to a more authoritarian phase, discusses why is it seldom acknowledged directly and whether it could be handled more responsibly and with greater understanding. Richards does not provide any simple solutions but in conclusion, is critical of architect-planners who abuse the rhetoric of social reform simply to leverage their attempts to secure building commissions, while being more sympathetic towards those who appear to have a sincere desire to improve society through their buildings.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was advised to start this book with where I studied and who my teachers where. I'm not going to do that. I am an ordinary person with unordinary thoughts. My autobiography consists of what I've done, mainly discoveries combined with theory. This is what you are holding in your hands now, and the incredible applications that follow from them. f or many people where they studied and who taught them it is important, but f or me it does not matter. Pierre Fermat was educated as a lawyer. In his spare time he was engaged in mathematics and left to mankind a number of mathematical discoveries. Evariste Galois did not even finish high school and was left without a degree because he could not take the Matura exam in mathematics. However, he left humanity almost all modern mathematics. Thomas Edison was almost illiterate, but this did not prevent him from becoming one of the most prolific inventors in his time. At the same time, tens of thousands of scientists work in institutes, leaving piles of books to mankind without any discoveries in them. In their scientific works there are only findings. Most of them are convinced that they do not make any discoveries because everything is already discovered. the truth is quite different. What we know is limited, but what we do not know has NO boundaries. I wrote this book because some omnipotence forced me to do this. My research showed that there are amazing events that are associated with rapid technological and spiritual development and change in the structure of human society. All this will be accompanied by natural cataclysms. Therefore, some biblical texts are misunderstood and misinterpreted. Under these conditions it is impossible to stay calm. Don't let the mathematical formulas scare you. You can do without them. Read on and you will understand, because it is a theory of reality.

Doing so helps to maintain the traditional characteristics while at the same time reinforcing new characteristics. This model can be applied to many countries around the globe. Additionally, the author points out that in the construction of Chinese national spirit it is also important to consider positive elements from different cultures in other nations.br

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Egypt, from the Old to the New Kingdom, enigmatic texts were created on the basis of non-standardized lists of characters and phonetic signs, the exact principles of which are still unclear to this day. For the first time, this study examines in detail the three most comprehensive known inscription texts from the New Kingdom, which were discovered in the tombs of Tutenchamun, Ramses VI and Ramses IX. Darnell shows that these three texts have a theological, iconographic and formal connection, and calls them collectively the "Book of the Solar-Osirian Unity". Differentiated and lively, he presents the content and theological peculiarities of these texts that deal with the afterlife with each other and in relation to other enigmatic texts of the new as well as the Middle and Old Kingdom.

The purpose has been to encourage and foster interdisciplinary research papers and colloquia which are now being published under the editorship of Professor N.A. Nyiri and Dr. Rod Preece. Contributors have been drawn from several centres and it is planned to expand the sources of papers in the future. The work that has been accomplished has served to bring scholars from diverse fields together and to encourage others to share in the exploration and expansion of critical thinking in a number of areas. It is expected that the publication of the first volume will open the way to an ever-widening interest in this core area of a university's life: critical thinking and dissemination of the knowledge gained. – From the foreword by Dr. Neale Tayler, Vice-President Academic, Wilfrid Laurier University
