Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Gosling Bride is the coming of age, growing in faith journey of a young woman in the 1970s who follows her brother into a new religious group soon to be branded as a cult. She must quickly navigate the fine line between an outside world bent on breaking her faith and an inside world of austerity and impossible goals. Maneuvering the two worlds becomes crucial not only for the realization of her personal dreams, but for the sake of a nation spiraling out of control. She has left behind friends, family, and college for an all-consuming cause not knowing the outcome, but fueled by the belief that if she cannot fulfill this quest - no matter its cost - a spiritual Armageddon will come to the world and a legacy of destruction for those to follow. Fundraising from the coal mining territory of West Virginia to America's heartland, she experiences, on one hand, the nation's deep divisions, and, on the other, endless giving and bountiful grace. At the heart of The Gosling Bride is a story about the adverse road to real love and the reality of a God who never gives up on us.

Building a wedding gift she-shed brings Coop closer to Taylor. They recall their promises – silly and solemn – and realize the spark could easily once again flame. But Taylor’s life is faraway and Coop, a single father, won’t risk his heart or his daughter’s again…

Can Layla and Seth keep up the façade in Chapel Springs this holiday season—for the sake of her career . . . and his heart? Under normal circumstances, Seth Murphy—the best friend of Layla O’Reilly’s ex-fiancé—would be the last person she’d marry. Seth has secretly loved Layla for years, even when she was dating his best friend. Maybe she’ll never forgive him for the way he hurt her back then, but he has to try. And Layla is willing to keep up their engagement farce until she’s landed her client. For Layla, it's the chance to save her career. But for Seth, it's his last chance to win her heart. “Denise Hunter knows how to warm up an inspirational romance with sizzling chemistry. Book excerpt: The Lennard family of Chevening, Kent descends from a George Lennard who was living there at the time of Henry VI. His father was named John and was living in Chepsted, Kent in 1440. The Lennard family married into the Fynes and Dacre families, both of whom were lesser nobility. Upon marrying into the noble houses of Fynes and Dacre, the Lennards inherited the title of Lord Dacre. In 1674 the ninth Baron Dacre married Anne FitzRoy, illegitimate daughter of King Charles II. Charles II readily recognized her as his daughter and freely bestowed gifts to her. In this manner, Thomas, ninth Baron Dacre was made Earl of Sussex. Another branch of the Lennard family married into and took the name Barrett, as well as the title of Lord Newburgh. Descendents of the various Lennard branches may be found in England and the United States.

Download or read book The Kalevala written by and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 1985-03-15 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The national folk epic of Finland is here presented in an English translation that is both scholarly and eminently readable. To avoid the imprecision and metrical monotony of earlier verse translations, Francis Magoun has used prose, printed line for line as in the original so that repetitions, parallelisms, and variations are readily apparent. The lyrical passages and poetic images, the wry humor, the tall-tale extravagance, and the homely realism of the Kalevala come through with extraordinary effectiveness.
