"Yemans is said to have come from the south of England, [Kent or Dorset] supposed sometime between 1683 and 1690"--Page 3. He purchased land in Oxford township in what is now the center of Frankford, Philadelphia. "He died in May or June, 1722, his will being signed May 9, 1722, and probated in Philadelphia July 21, 1722 ..."--Page 3. "Yeamans Gillingham's wife is said by family tradition to have been Mary Taylor, and to have come from England about the same time as her husband. ... Her will, signed the twentieth day of October, 1727, was probated November 11, 1727 ..."--P. 4 and recorded in the Philadelphia Register of Wills. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Ohio, Colorado, Maryland, California, Virginia, New York, Kansas, Michigan and elsewhere.
