Book excerpt: “As fearless as a futuristic Game of Thrones.”— MARGARET STOHL, New York Times bestselling co-author of the Beautiful Creatures trilogy From Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Johnston, the New York Times bestselling authors of the Blue Bloods and Witches of East End series. Welcome to New Vegas, a city once covered in bling, now blanketed in ice. Like much of the destroyed planet, the place knows only one temperature—freezing. But some things never change. The diamond in the ice desert is still a 24-hour hedonistic playground and nothing keeps the crowds away from the casino floors, never mind the rumors about sinister sorcery in its shadows. At the heart of this city is Natasha Kestal, a young blackjack dealer looking for a way out. Like many, she's heard of a mythical land simply called “the Blue.” They say it’s a paradise, where the sun still shines and the waters are turquoise. More importantly, it’s a place where Nat won’t be persecuted, even if her darkest secret comes to light. But passage to the Blue is treacherous, if not impossible, and her only shot is to bet on a ragtag crew of mercenaries led by a cocky runner named Ryan Wesson there. Danger and deceit await on every corner, even as Nat and Wes find themselves inexorably drawn to each other. But can true love survive the lies? Fiery hearts collide in this fantastic tale of the evil men do and the awesome power within us all. This is a remarkable first book in a spellbinding new series about the dawn of a new kind of magic.

It’s been years since she last saw them—brooding Cameron with his scarred hand; Piper, who seems too perfect to be real; and peculiar little Lilias with her fear of bones. Still, Sophie never expected the strange new rules the family now lives by: Make no mention of Cameron’s accident. Never leave the front gate unlocked. Download or read book Frozen in Time written by Owen Beattie and published by Greystone Books. This book was released on 2014-08-23 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The truth about what happened on Sir John Franklin’s ill-fated Arctic expedition of 1845–48 has been shrouded in mystery for 165 years. Carrying the best equipment that the science and technology, Franklin and his men set out to “penetrate the icy fastness of the north, and to circumnavigate America.” The expedition’s two ships — HMS Erebus and HMS Terror — carrying 129 officers and men, disappeared without a trace. From 1846 to 1880 more than 20 major rescue parties were involved in the search for the missing men and ships. The disappearance of the expedition and absence of any substantial written accounts of the journey have left attempts at a reconstruction of events sketchy and inconclusive. In Frozen in Time, forensic anthropologist Owen Beattie and historian John Geiger tell the dramatic story of the excavation of three sailors from the Franklin Expeditions, buried for 138 years on the lonely headland of Beechey Island. This book contains the astonishing photographic record of the excavation, together with the maps and illustrations that accompany this riveting account of Franklin’s fatal adventure. The unfolding of Dr. Beattie’s unexpected findings is not only a significant document but also, in itself, a tale of high adventure.

Reyker Lagorsson thought he was done being a Dragonman. That was before he saw Lira leap from a cliff and vanish into the sea. Determined to honor her memory by protecting her people, Reyker must feign loyalty to the warlord, undermine him at every turn, and seek alliances with renegade soldiers—without succumbing to the battle-madness that threatens to possess him once more. When the Fallen Ones offer Lira a chance to defeat the Dragon, her quest leads her to a place she never expected—Iseneld, the warlord’s homeland. Her journey into the heart of the Frozen Sun will put her on a collision course with Reyker, costing both of them more than they ever imagined, and leaving her with a terrible choice: to save their countries, she must forsake everything she loves.

Book Synopsis Suffering and the Sovereignty of God by : John Piper
Download or read book Suffering and the Sovereignty of God written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2006-09-13 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last few years, 9/11, a tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and many other tragedies have shown us that the vision of God in today's churches in relation to evil and suffering is often frivolous. Against the overwhelming weight and seriousness of the Bible, many Christians are choosing to become more shallow, more entertainment-oriented, and therefore irrelevant in the face of massive suffering. In Suffering and the Sovereignty of God, contributors John Piper, Joni Eareckson Tada, Steve Saint, Carl Ellis, David Powlison, Dustin Shramek, and Mark Talbot explore the many categories of God's sovereignty as evidenced in his Word. They urge readers to look to Christ, even in suffering, to find the greatest confidence, deepest comfort, and sweetest fellowship they have ever known.
Book Synopsis Frozen 3 Script. The Fire Awakens by : Ion Bogdan Purcaru
Download or read book Frozen 3 Script. The Fire Awakens written by Ion Bogdan Purcaru and published by Purcaru Ion Bogdan. This book was released on 2020-05-31 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is March 2020. I am working at a sales agent in the roof industry and I have decent income. It’s risky because I have to climb old buildings roofs but I like it. Suddenly due to COVID-19 my county dictates a state an emergency and I have no other choice but to stay with my kids at home. My wife is working in the medical system so it’s her duty to help by going to work. Because she had a greater risk to be infected by the new virus I had to stay alone with my kids to protect my older parents that were helping me before, prior the COVID era… I love my kids, a boy, age five and a girl age two so I’ve made everything possible to take care of them while keeping them entertained. I’ve cooked, sang, played with them in every possible way and from time to time we’ve watched an animation movie. One of those movies watched together was Frozen 2. After we’ve watched the movie, with the kids enjoying it some ideas engulfed my mind. I wrote my ideas into a word document called Frozen 3 script. John Steinbeck said "Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen." My rabbits multiplied therefore after one month of writing and watching over my kids the script was ready… It wasn’t perfect as it had many spelling and expression problems as I am not a native English writer but the ideas inside and the actual story were in my opinion at least great… You see I wrote before, self-published a book on Amazon and I have an YouTube Channel where I wrote stories and amazingly 33k subscribers enjoyed the way I write despite in English the imperfect style. I know when a story has a lot of potential that’s why I’ve decided to share the story to Disney, the legal owners of Frozen. God knows I’ve tried every possible way to contact them but I’ve always received the same answer “It’s our policy not to accept any unsolicited creative ideas and submissions” and other similar replies. After one and a half month of trying and failing to contact anyone from Disney I am tired so I’ve decided to publish the script because I love it and I don’t want to die buried deep inside my computer’s bits. I don’t have time to correct it thoroughly or adapt it from a script to a literal form because the state of emergency ended fourteen days ago and I’ve returned to my job. I have to work to sustain my family. I want to share this story/script to everyone interested to read it… I want objective and honest answers about the actual story. I won’t mind if you criticize me for not using the best expression to describe the story or because of my misspelling yet the scope of this writing is to deliver an amazing story. I wanted to imprint a Disney Frozen style logical, not violent, funny, interesting, dramatic and musical while maintaining everything we loved in Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven including their personalities in a logical no nonsense story. I also wanted to deliver a reason for Elsa’s powers, why was she born with the ability to create ice. You will tell me if I’ve succeeded or not !
