Download or read book Experimental Investigation of the Fermi Surfaces of Metals written by Royal W. Stark and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The work performed was aimed at understanding the dynamics of electron motion in metals and, as a corollary to this, understanding the Fermi surface and electronic band structure of metals. The work to be described in this report falls under three general categories. The first of these is the study of magnetic breakdown effects in metals; the second is the study of the Fermi surface and electronic band structure of magnesium, zinc and cadmium; the third is the study of the Fermi surface and electronic band structure of ferromagnetic nickel. Book Synopsis Fermi Surface of Dilute Alloys by : W. L. Gordon
Download or read book Fermi Surface of Dilute Alloys written by W. L. Gordon and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fermi surface changes in dilute alloys of aluminum, of cadmium and of zinc were explored by de Haas-van Alphen methods. In aluminum, nontransition metal solutes of greater and lesser valence produced changes consistent with the rigid band model and no anistropy of electron scattering was observed on the small portions of the Fermi surface studied here. In the isoelectronic alloys Zn Cd and Zn Hg as well as Cd Mg, the influence of axial ratio changes have been determined on Fermi surface parameters and steady susceptibility. Finally, the effect of precipitation on the scattering temperature and on magnetic breakdown was investigated in supersaturated Zn Cd alloys. (Author).
