Book Synopsis A Study of Erotic Literature in England by : W. v. Murat
Download or read book A Study of Erotic Literature in England written by W. v. Murat and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2019-09-24 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present work fills a gap as it attempts to offer a history of erotic literature published in the United Kingdom. The word Study in the title is perhaps a bit exaggerated as the material is largely taken from the now well known bibliographies by Pisanus Fraxi (Henry Spencer Ashbee) and quotations from the books themselves. The time line is WW II. Who was the author? He may have been Charles Reginald Dawes (1879-1964) who is supposed to have written (but not published) a text of this or a similar title. His profession or his activities are not known - he once called himself a writer but library catalogues credit him only with two publications: The Marquis de Sade (Paris 1927) and Retif de la Bretonne (London 1946, privately printed). He may have been a popular writer under pseudonyms, though. Dawes owned a good erotica collection which he willed to the British Museum Library; that would explain why the author of this Study - if he was Dawes - could quote freely from erotic texts which only few of his contemporaries would have had available. The main merits of this book are that the author was thoroughly familiar with English (and French) erotic literature and that he put his material in chronological order and in context. The editor added a number of references, illustrations and indices of personal names and titles to facilitate navigation.

Book Synopsis Erotic Books of Our Naughty Ancestors vol.15 by : Igor Boyko
Download or read book Erotic Books of Our Naughty Ancestors vol.15 written by Igor Boyko and published by Aegitas. This book was released on 2024-02-22 with total page 789 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are proud to present the next book of a 20-volume edition of classics of the erotic genre published before World War II. A total of 104 titles are included, most of them from the pen of authors who, for obvious reasons, wished to conceal their real names. This approach, on the other hand, allowed them to give free reins to their unbridled imagination and go wild, so that the eroticism in their works is at times over the top, remaining the benchmark for the authors of contemporary obscene books. Just do not try to repeat the described feats at home. Well, not all of them. We've warned you. =================================== Suburban Souls: The Erotic Psychology of a Man and a Maid (by Anonymous – Jacky S) The Confessions of Nemesis Hunt (by George Reginald Baccus) The Life and Amours of the Beautiful, Gay and Dashing Kate Percival, The Belle of the Delaware (written by herself) Birch in the Boudoir (by Anonymous)

Book Synopsis The Sunuwar of Nepal and their Sense of Communication by : Werner M. Egli
Download or read book The Sunuwar of Nepal and their Sense of Communication written by Werner M. Egli and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2014 with total page 540 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This detailed study on the Sunuwar people, one of the many indigenous peoples of Nepal, is based on more than twenty years of ethnographic research. The book starts with an account of the Sunuwar's indigenous notion of culture (mukdum) as expressed in social practice. With reference to specific social fields, a model of the Sunuwar person, mainly used to grasp deviations from the ideal way of life, is analyzed from the perspective of cultural psychology and the anthropology of the senses. The study concludes with an analysis of healing rituals, showing that their effect simultaneously results from the ancestral atmosphere produced by the shaman and a kind of domination-free discussion among the ritual participants mainly taking place in the pauses of the ritual. Thus, the shamanic ritual is interpreted as a kind of mediation. Book Synopsis The Sex Secrets Of Old England by : Nigel Cawthorne
Download or read book The Sex Secrets Of Old England written by Nigel Cawthorne and published by Robinson. This book was released on 2018-09-06 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Once again, Nigel Cawthorne takes the reader on a fascinating journey through the strange, hidden sexual history of England. The history of sex in Britain has been largely glossed over by 'proper' historians: Nigel Cawthorne has burrowed deep into the archives to reveal exactly what our ancestors got up to in bed (and out of it). There are chapters on the ancient arts of seduction, adultery, brothels, 'the English vice', contraception, defloration, and many more - from the torrid Tudors to the supposedly strait-laced Victorians.
