This book was released on 1965 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A study has been made of the thermal degradation of poly (methyl methacrylate) of different molecular weights in toluene, ethyl acetate and chloroform. Four poly (methyl methacrylate) samples having molecular weights of 2,210,000, 733,000, 320,000, and 43,00, respectively were studied in this investigation. The results indicated that the polymer having a molecular weight of 2,210,000 undergoes degradation while the low molecular weight polymers having molecular weights of 733,000, 320,000, 43,000 undergo reverse polymerization"--Abstract, leaf [ii].

Download or read book Dissolution Rates of Poly(Methyl Methacrylate) in Mixtures of Non-Solvents written by R. J. Groele and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As predicted by thermodynamic studies of polymer conformation, high molecular weight poly(methyl methacrylate), PMMA, dissolves cleanly, and at a constant rate, in a 7:3 mixture of 1-butanol and acetonitrile although neither liquid is a solvent for PMMA by itself. Mixtures of other alcohols with acetonitrile also dissolve PMMA. When mixture with the same fraction of acetonitrile are compared, methanol dissolves PMMA almost twice as fast, ethanol and hexanol at about the same rate, and 2-propanol somewhat more slowly than the 1-butanol mixture with acetonitrile. The measurements of dissolution rate were made using a laser interferometer at 20 C. Keywords: Microlithography, Resists, Poly(methyl methacrylate). (aw).

Book Synopsis Effect of Stress-solvent Crazing on the Tensile Strength of Polymethyl Methacrylate by : B. M. Axilrod
Download or read book Effect of Stress-solvent Crazing on the Tensile Strength of Polymethyl Methacrylate written by B. M. Axilrod and published by . This book was released on 1951 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Loss of strength of tensile specimens of polymethyl methacrylate by stress-solvent crazing at 23 degrees C and 50-percent relative humidity was investigated. Sheet-to-sheet variability of crazed and control specimens, effect of masking paper on crazing, and relative effect of a few large crazing cracks as compared with more numerous fine cracks were studied. Because it was impossible to predict tensile strength of crazed specimens from their appearence, it is suggested that aircraft enclosures with crazing of the type described in this work should be removed if, in service, tensile stress occurs normal to the crazing cracks.
