He had blood on his hands when I walked in that day. Though it should have drove me far from wanting anything to do with my illustrious boss, instead, it forced me to look closer. Too close. It started as a simply infatuation. Dark hair, deep green eyes and a dominance about him that left everyone paying attention, but that was only the beginning. Things got off track the moment I let myself look beyond what I could truly see and explain. Thus began the unfolding of Equilibrium. I have no clue what part I will play in the powerful structure set up to maintain the balance between good and evil. All I know is that the epicenter of all power has passed away and someone must take his place. I can only hope that it's not me. I'm not prepared for such a journey, nor will I ever be. I don't even believe in good and evil. But somehow the truth remains... I have no choice in what's to come. None of us do. The Core is missing and the position will not go unfilled. The Invitation: Join us from the beginning of this journey and emerge yourself in the alternative reality that Kate Thomas has created. Let the here and now subtly fade away as you discover something new, and perhaps even find yourself changed by the authentic human experience presented in this fantastic magic adventure. Not everything is quite what it seems... But you knew that already Paranormal, Romance, Clean, New Adult, Balance, Light and Dark, Office Romance, Unique, Intreguing, magic, powers

Book excerpt: The circus performer's ability to walk on a tightrope is not a miraculous feat; it is just that he knows about balance more than you do. Not surprisingly, the same applies to crossing life's tightrope. One way or another, balance needs to be achieved in our life. Circumstances may help you make it an ideal balance, or you might be forced to compromise at times. However, it remains essential to recognize that achieving such a balance is a duty that can never be entirely disregarded. The Equilibrium Zone is somehow a philosophy, a lifestyle, and a way of thinking that you will find applicable and beneficial in various ways. But first, you will have to understand the deep meaning of it.

Book Synopsis Emma's Equilibrium by : Arvind Wadhera
Download or read book Emma's Equilibrium written by Arvind Wadhera and published by Troubador Publishing Ltd. This book was released on 2024-08-12 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a child, Emma develops a talent for equestrian sport. She follows her passion and moves from England to Canada to compete at the highest level. Over time though, her great success pales into insignificance next to the overwhelming suffering that she comes to experience in the most brutal forms of betrayal, rape and violence until eventually, when the opportunity arises, she moves to Belgium with her husband, in the hope of a new start. For a while, normality is restored. Everything appears to be fine – until they come to the realisation that there is a problem emerging within their family. Emma is increasingly troubled and challenged by the worrying traits that her eldest son is developing. She wonders why she encounters the dark side of men repeatedly. The situation worsens until one day, she despairs and reaches for their hunting rifle. It’s time for an intervention. Just as suffering can co-exist with triumph, sometimes there is hope in despair. An encounter with Death provides answers that allow Emma to better understand her existence. She comes to understand that her life is just one part of a much larger plan and that things tend to happen for a reason. She also discovers that she is right at the cusp of achieving that much-desired state of existence, equilibrium.
Book Synopsis Nonlinearities in Economics by : Giuseppe Orlando
Download or read book Nonlinearities in Economics written by Giuseppe Orlando and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-08-31 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This interdisciplinary book argues that the economy has an underlying non-linear structure and that business cycles are endogenous, which allows a greater explanatory power with respect to the traditional assumption that dynamics are stochastic and shocks are exogenous. The first part of this work is formal-methodological and provides the mathematical background needed for the remainder, while the second part presents the view that signal processing involves construction and deconstruction of information and that the efficacy of this process can be measured. The third part focuses on economics and provides the related background and literature on economic dynamics and the fourth part is devoted to new perspectives in understanding nonlinearities in economic dynamics: growth and cycles. By pursuing this approach, the book seeks to (1) determine whether, and if so where, common features exist, (2) discover some hidden features of economic dynamics, and (3) highlight specific indicators of structural changes in time series. Accordingly, it is a must read for everyone interested in a better understanding of economic dynamics, business cycles, econometrics and complex systems, as well as non-linear dynamics and chaos theory.
Book Synopsis Scale Invariance, Interfaces, and Non-Equilibrium Dynamics by : Alan McKane
Download or read book Scale Invariance, Interfaces, and Non-Equilibrium Dynamics written by Alan McKane and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The NATO Advanced Study Institute on "Scale Invariance, Interfaces and Non Equilibrium Dynamics" was held at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Cambridge, UK from 20-30 June 1994. The topics discussed at the Institute were all concerned with the origin and nature of complex structures found far from equilibrium. Examples ranged from reaction diffusion systems and hydrodynamics through to surface growth due to deposition. A common theme was that of scale invariance due to the self-similarity of the underly ing structures. The topics that were covered can be broadly classified as pattern for mation (theoretical, computational and experimental aspects), the non-equilibrium dynamics of the growth of interfaces and other manifolds, coarsening phenomena, generic scale invariance in driven systems and the concept of self-organized critical ity. The main feature of the Institute was the four one-hour-Iong lectures given each day by invited speakers. In addition to thirty-seven of these lectures, two contributed lectures were also given. The many questions that were asked after the lectures attested to the excitement and interest that the lecturers succeeded in generating amongst the students. In addition to the discussions initiated by lectures, an im portant component of the meeting were the poster sessions, where participants were able to present their own work, which took place on three of the afternoons. The list of titles given at the end of these proceedings gives some idea of the range and scope of these posters.
Book Synopsis Granular Nanoelectronics by : David Ferry
Download or read book Granular Nanoelectronics written by David Ferry and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1991-07-31 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The technological means now exists for approaching the fundamentallimiting scales of solid state electronics in which a single carrier can, in principle, represent a single bit in an information flow. In this light, the prospect of chemically, or biologically, engineered molccular-scale structures which might support information processing functions has enticed workers for many years. The one common factor in all suggested molecular switches, ranging from the experimentally feasible proton-tunneling structure, to natural systems such as the micro-tubule, is that each proposed structure deals with individual information carrying entities. Whereas this future molecular electronics faces enormous technical challenges, the same Iimit is already appearing in existing semiconducting quantum wires and small tunneling structures, both superconducting and normal meta! devices, in which the motion of a single eh arge through the tunneling barrier can produce a sufficient voltage change to cut-off further tunneling current. We may compare the above situation with today's Si microelectronics, where each bit is encoded as a very !arge number, not necessarily fixed, of electrons within acharge pulse. The associated reservoirs and sinks of charge carriers may be profitably tapped and manipulated to proviele macro-currents which can be readily amplified or curtailed. On the other band, modern semiconductor ULSI has progressed by adopting a linear scaling principle to the down-sizing of individual semiconductor devices.
Book Synopsis General Equilibrium Analysis by : Pascal Bridel
Download or read book General Equilibrium Analysis written by Pascal Bridel and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-03-01 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2010 marks the hundredth anniversary of the death of Léon Walras, the brilliant originator and first formaliser of general equilibrium theory – one of the pillars of modern economic theory. In advancing much derided practical solutions Walras also displayed more concern for the problems of living in a second best world than is common in modern pure theories of the invisible hand, efficient market hypothesis, DSGE macroeconomics or the thinking of some contemporary free market admirers all based on general equilibrium theory. This book brings contributions from the likes of Kenneth Arrow, Alan Kirman, Richard Posner, Amartya Sen and Robert Solow to share their thoughts and reflections on the theoretical heritage of Léon Walras. Some authors reminisce on the part they played in the development of modern general economics theory; others reflect on the crucial part played by general equilibrium in the development of macroeconomics, microeconomics, growth theory, welfare economics and the theory of justice; others still complain about the wrong path economic theory took under the influence of post 1945 developments in general equilibrium theory.
