Download or read book Economic Design of SkSP-R Skip-Lot Sampling Plan written by Saminathan Balamurali and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Skip-lot sampling plans are widely used in industries in order to reduce sampling costs and inspection efforts when products have a good quality history. This type of skip-lot sampling plan is economically advantageous and useful to minimize the cost of the inspection particularly with costly and destructive testing. Recently, a new type of skip-lot sampling plan called SkSP-R was developed. In this paper, an economic design of the SkSP-R plan is proposed for both destructive and non-destructive testing by considering various cost items in order to optimize the plan.
Book Synopsis Testing and Inspection Using Acceptance Sampling Plans by : Muhammad Aslam
Download or read book Testing and Inspection Using Acceptance Sampling Plans written by Muhammad Aslam and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-07-19 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces a number of new sampling plans, such as time truncated life tests, skip sampling plans, resubmitted plans, mixed sampling plans, sampling plans based on the process capability index and plans for big data, which can be used for testing and inspecting products, from the raw-materials stage to the final product, in every industry using statistical process control techniques. It also presents the statistical theory, methodology and applications of acceptance sampling from truncated life tests. Further, it discusses the latest reliability, quality and risk analysis methods based on acceptance sampling from truncated life, which engineering and statisticians require in order to make decisions, and which are also useful for researchers in the areas of quality control, lifetime analysis, censored data analysis, goodness-of-fit and statistical software applications. In its nine chapters, the book addresses a wide range of testing/inspection sampling schemes for discrete and continuous data collected in various production processes. It includes a chapter on sampling plans for big data and offers several illustrative examples of the procedures presented. Requiring a basic knowledge of probability distributions, inference and estimation, and lifetime and quality analysis, it is a valuable resource for graduate and senior undergraduate engineering students, and practicing engineers, more specifically it is useful for quality engineers, reliability engineers, consultants, black belts, master black belts, students and researchers interested in applying reliability and risk and quality methods.

Book Synopsis Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences by : Wade H. Shafer
Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-21 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis seminated by the Center for lnformation and Numerica/ Data Analysis and Synthesis (C/NDAS) * at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficia! to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After fi ve years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of ali concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and App/ied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. Ali back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 21 (thesis year 1976) a total of 10,586 theses titles from 25 Canadian and 219 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work.

Download or read book Skip-Lot Sampling written by RL. Perry and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Skip-lot sampling, originally introduced by Harold F. Dodge in 1955, provides for a method of reducing the amount of sampling inspection of lots of good quality, as evidenced by previous lot acceptances. This is accomplished by skipping the inspection of some of the submitted lots. These plans, designated as SkSP-2, are evaluated by such standard measures as the Operating Characteristic (OC) curve, the average sample number, and the average run length, a measure of the plan's ability to detect that a sudden shift in quality levels has occurred. A table is provided to help in designing a skip-lot plan by matching its OC curve to that of a given single sampling plan. An example is used to illustrate this.
