The poems in Admission Requirements attempt to discover what is required of us when we cut across our material and psychic geographies. Simultaneously full and empty of its origins, the self is continually taxed of any certainties and ways of being. The speaker in these poems is engaged in a kind of fieldwork, surveying gardens, communities, and the haphazard cityscape, where the reader is presented with the paradoxes of subsumed histories. With understated irony and unsettling imagery, the poems address the internal conflicts inherent in contemporary living.

Book excerpt: From the New York Times bestselling author of You Should Have Known (adapted as The Undoing on HBO), comes a page-turner about a college admissions officer with a secret—now a major motion picture starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd. For years, 38-year-old Portia Nathan has avoided the past, hiding behind her busy (and sometimes punishing) career as a Princeton University admissions officer and her dependable domestic life. Her reluctance to confront the truth is suddenly overwhelmed by the resurfacing of a life-altering decision, and Portia is faced with an extraordinary test. Just as thousands of the nation's brightest students await her decision regarding their academic admission, so too must Portia decide whether to make her own ultimate admission. Admission is a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the complex college admissions process and an emotional examination of what happens when the secrets of the past shake a woman's life to its core.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The United Nations began as an alliance during World War II. Eventually, however, the UN came to approximate a universal organization - i.e., open to and aspiring to include all States. This presents a legal question, for Article 4 of the Charter contains substantive criteria to limit admission of States to the UN and no formal amendment has touched that part of the Charter. This book gives an up-to-date account of admission to the UN, from the 1950s logjam through on-going controversies like Kosovo and Taiwan. With reference to Charter law, the book considers how Article 4 came to accommodate universality and what the future of a universal organization in a world of politically diverse States might be.

Cheat. Bribe. How far would you go to get into your dream school? How far would your parents go? Inspired by the recent college admissions scandal, this ripped-from-the-headlines novel sees one teenage girl's privileged world shatter when her family's lies are exposed. It's good to be Chloe Wynn Berringer-she has it all-money, privilege, and a ticket to the college of her dreams. Or at least she did until the FBI came knocking on her front door, guns at the ready, and her future went up in smoke. Now her B list celebrity mother is under arrest in a massive college admissions bribery scandal, and Chloe might be the next one facing charges. The public is furious, the headlines are brutal, and the US attorney is out for blood. As everything she's taken for granted starts to slip away, Chloe must reckon not only with the truth of what happened, but also with the examination of her own guilt. How much did she really know-or guess? Why did her parents think the only way for her to succeed was to cheat? And what does it really mean to be complicit? The New York Times bestselling author of Tell Me Three Things takes on the college admissions bribery scandal that rocked the country in this timely tale of the hyper elite and the hyper competitive, and the lengths they go to stay at the top.

This book was released on 2017-07-28 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ICD-10 is the 10th revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD), a medical classification list by the World Health Organization. It contains codes for diseases, signs and symptoms, abnormal findings, complaints, social circumstances, and external causes of injury of diseases. The code set allows more than 14,000 different codes and permits the tracking of many new diagnoses. The U.S. has used ICD-10-CM (Clinical Modification) since October, 2015. This national variant of ICD-10 was provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the National Center for Health Statistics, and the use of ICD-10-CM codes are now mandated for all inpatient medical reporting requirements. This book is for physicians, practice managers and all others who need learn ICD-10. It’s designed for the clinician to learn how to put their diagnosis into a code and not rely on staff or computer software programs to decide it form them. ICD-10 is a complex system of coding and Medicare and third party insurers have been lenient giving providers a year to get used to the coding system. As a result, physicians and their staff have become very complacent regarding proper coding. However, Medicare and third party insurers will soon begin to deny claims which are not coded correctly, which in turn will cost physician groups time and money. This book focuses on Worker’s Compensation and Personal Injury, a very large segment of the healthcare industry and is a new area to ICD-10. The diagnosis coding for injuries is much different than for Medicare or group insurance and unless the physicians and their staff learn how to use it properly, they risk losing income for themselves and worse, they risk losing the case for the patient.
