As a student of the Imam, I have published FIVE books with the hope of helping others to better understand the value of this knowledge, and to better understand the insight of revealed knowledge as it relates to world culture. This publication is a REVIEW and EXTENTION of this quest.

If your answer is YES, then you will find this book extremely useful. INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR Q - WHY SHOULD SOMEONE READ THIS BOOK? A - Despite the presence of dozens of translations of the Quran and supplication (dua) books in the marketplace, it is sad to find Muslims living in the most pathetic condition in the world. They seem to be the people who are most in need of help/guidance. The simple reason why we have stopped benefitting from this Divine Message is that, we approach the Glorious Quran without knowing its proper etiquette. My book will teach you the correct etiquette of the Quran, which will strengthen your relationship with it. Once you learn the etiquette, you will notice that the Noble Quran will once again take the centre stage in your lives by reclaiming the spot of the ultimate go-to book for all your life's problems. Then, you will no longer feel the need to seek refuge in other man-made self-help books. Q - WHAT MAKES THIS BOOK SPECIAL? A - This is the ONLY book of its kind that has the Quran etiquette taken exclusively from the Quran and Authentic Ahadith. Moreover, full references are provided in the footnotes along with the hadith grading, so readers can check the sources themselves if they want. The book also addresses many misconceptions surrounding the handling and recitation of the Quran. This will prevent the readers from making those mistakes when approaching the Noble Quran. Q - WHY DID I WRITE THIS BOOK? A - Five years ago, when I first received the request from my sister to put together a book on Quran etiquette, most of the published work on Quran etiquette was filled with personal opinions. That is why; I decided to put together this book and spent countless hours to make sure that all the etiquette which I covered in it were exclusively taken from the Quran and Authentic Sunnah. Q - HOW SHOULD THE READERS TREAT THIS BOOK? A - This book should be treated as a constant companion of the Quran and should be in every house that contains the Glorious Quran. When the Quran is approached in a befitting manner, it will move and soften the hardest of hearts by the Mercy of Allah. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Islamic Law and the Law of Armed Conflict: The Conflict in Pakistan demonstrates how international law can be applied in Muslim states in a way that is compatible with Islamic law. Within this broader framework of compatible application, Niaz A. Shah argues that the Islamic law of qital (i.e. armed conflict) and the law of armed conflict are compatible with each other and that the former can complement the latter at national and regional levels. Shah identifies grey areas in the Islamic law of qital and argues for their expansion and clarification. Shah also calls for new rules to be developed to cover what he calls the blind spots in the Islamic law of qital. He shows how Islamic law and the law of armed conflict could contribute to each other in certain areas, such as, the law of occupation; air and naval warfare; and the use of modern weaponry. Such a contribution is neither prohibited by Islamic law nor by international law. Shah applies the Islamic law of qital and the law of armed conflict to a live armed conflict in Pakistan and argues that all parties, the Taliban, the security forces of Pakistan and the American CIA, have violated one or more of the applicable laws. He maintains that whilst militancy is a genuine problem, fighting militants does not allow or condone violation of the law. Islamic Law and the Law of Armed Conflict will be of interest to students and scholars of international law, Islamic law, international relations, security studies and south-east Asian studies.

Book excerpt: In the tradition of The Alchemist comes an internationally bestselling novel based on the author's own mystical journey to discover the seven secrets to creativity, abundance, healing, and love. Unsatisfied and unfulfilled by her understanding of life after the death of her father, Michal journeys to Jerusalem to see if the great mystic rabbis hold any answers. What she discovers, and what Patty Harpenau learned, were the seven secret codes to live by. The Life Codes embodies the mystical essence of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam that have been locked in secret texts and whispered in private ritual only to men of a certain age. Patty Harpenau broke down barriers when she was given these codes, and in this novel based on her own spiritual journey, she shows the process of discovery and how to apply these seven secrets to our lives in order to fulfill our purpose and our potential. Each of the seven codes is revealed as part of Michal's narrative. Each of the seven chapters ends in questions that help readers integrate the code into their lives and develop their own spiritual paths to peace, creativity, abundance, self-acceptance, love, and happiness. It is a heart-wrenching story of love; of relationships that transcend time, life, and death; and of a woman breaking through barriers to achieve her greatest aspiration.

Book excerpt: The Mysteries of Allah and His Muhammad is indeed a scanty summary of a potentially great debate. However unwieldy or incomprehensible the actual details may be, certain contexts of the whole or part can always be identified for discussion. In the physique of mankind, Allah manifests. He does so on nature glaringly, just as is inferred from various sections of the book. Whilst He does, the divinity of a being “not more than a prophet” is also undoubtedly established. That co-joining of the One and Only Creator and a creation (a man, Muhammad), who coincidentally is most positively and negatively controversial, should interest those who consider man to be the meanest of God’s creations. That we may not discount knowledge of any sort, even that considered most sacrilegious (science), God’s inspiration to a mortal being (Muhammad) corroborates too many ideas put forth by scientists or intellectuals’ discoveries and postulations. What a mystery that the lightbulb, which in theory and description was already encoded in the Quran more than a thousand years ago, before one bulb ever rolled out in a factory! Only simple minds take things for granted and give no thought to the grandiose schemes of our world and its elements. This book serves as a jolt to those who oversimplify “what is” or the mysterious.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanists have long contended that morality is a strictly human concern and should be independent of religious creeds and dogma. This principle was clearly articulated in the two Humanist Manifestos issued in the mid-twentieth century and in Humanist Manifesto 2000, which appeared at the beginning of the twenty-first century. Now this code for global ethics further elaborates ten humanist principles designed for a world community that is growing ever closer together. In the face of the obvious challenges to international stability-from nuclear proliferation, environmental degradation, economic turmoil, and reactionary and sometimes violent religious movements-a code based on the "natural dignity and inherent worth of all human beings" is needed more than ever. In separate chapters the author delves into the issues surrounding these ten humanist principles: preserving individual dignity and equality, respecting life and property, tolerance, sharing, preventing domination of others, eliminating superstition, conserving the natural environment, resolving differences cooperatively without resort to violence or war, political and economic democracy, and providing for universal education. This forward-looking, optimistic, and eminently reasonable discussion of humanist ideals makes an important contribution to laying the foundations for a just and peaceable global community.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Crime and Punishment in Islamic Law: A Fresh Interpretation, Mohammad Kamali considers problems associated with and proposals for reform of the hudud punishments prescribed by Islamic criminal law, and other topics related to crime and punishment in Shariah. He examines what the Qur'an and hadith say about hudud punishments, as well as just retaliation (qisas), and discretionary punishments (ta'zir), and looks at modern-day applications of Islamic criminal law in 15 Muslim countries. Particular attention is given to developments in Malaysia, a multi-religious society, federal state, and self-described democracy, where a lively debate about hudud has been on-going for the last three decades. Malaysia presents a particularly interesting case study of how a reasonably successful country with a market economy, high levels of exposure to the outside world, and a credible claim to inclusivity, deals with Islamic and Shariah-related issues. Kamali concludes that there is a significant gap between the theory and practice of hudud in the scriptural sources of Shariah and the scholastic articulations of jurisprudence of the various schools of Islamic law, arguing that literalism has led to such rigidity as to make Islamic criminal law effectively a dead letter. His goal is to provide a fresh reading of the sources of Shariah and demonstrate how the Qur'an and Sunnah can show the way forward to needed reforms of Islamic criminal law.

Book excerpt: COMPARATIVE RELIGIONS AND PHILOSOPHIES Comparative religion is the branch of the study of religions concerned with the systematic comparison of the doctrines and practices of the world’s religions. In general, the comparative study of religion yields a deeper understanding of the fundamental philosophical concerns of religion such as ethics, metaphysics and the nature and form of salvation. Studying such material is meant to give one a richer and more sophisticated understanding of human beliefs and practices regarding the sacred, numinous, spiritual and divine. In the field of comparative religion, the main world religions are generally classified as Abrahamic, Indian or Taoic. In the study of comparative religion, the category of Abrahamic religions consists of the three monotheistic religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, which claim Abraham as a part of their sacred history. Comparative mythology is the comparison of myths from different cultures in an attempt to identify shared themes and characteristics. Comparative mythology has served a variety of academic purposes. For example, scholars have used the relationships between different myths to trace the development of religions and cultures, to propose common origins for myths from different cultures, and to support various psychological theories. The book is intended to assist students and teachers who are interested in this subject. Contents: • Christianity and its Philosophy • Islamic Beliefs and Philosophy • Hinduism and its Philosophy • Buddhism and its Philosophy • Sikhism and its Philosophy • Jainism and its Philosophy • Confucianism and its Philosophy

Book excerpt: This interdisciplinary anthology examines the relationship between developments in biotechnology and both artistic and literary innovation, focussing in particular on how newfound molecular technologies and knowledge regimes, such as CRISPR gene editing, alter conceptions of what it means to be human. The book presents 21 essays, split across four parts, from a coterie of artists, theorists, historians and scientists which examine the symbiotic relationship between humans, animals, and viruses as well as the impossibility of germ-free existence. The essays in this volume are urgent in their topicality, embodying the exhilarating yet alarming zeitgeist of contemporary nonhuman-to-human viral transmission and gene editing technologies. Ultimately, Art and Biotechnology reveals how art and biotechnology influence each other and how art has shaped the discussion around gene editing and the socio-cultural aspects of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is essential reading for students and researchers focussing on science and art, environmental humanities, and ethics.
