TURN ON THE REVELATION OF LIGHT, EVEN IN THE DARKEST HOUR OF THE NIGHT, AND CONSIDER EVERY GOD GIVEN ADVANTAGE, THAT WILL ELEVATE, AND DELIVER YOU, AS YOU FIGHT YOUR FRIGHTFUL FIGHTS! THE QUESTION BEGS, WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THE SITUATION BETTER, AND NOT WORSE? WHEN YOU ARE FIGHTING FORCES THAT YOU CAN’T SEE, AND YOU FEEL LIKE YOU’RE IN THE MINORITY, THEN GOD’S SUPERIOR INVISIBLE CELESTIAL BAND WILL CONSTITUTE THE MAJORITY! IN ST. MATTHEW 26:52-53 JESUS TOLD HIS ADVERSARIES, THAT HE COULD PRAY, AND HAVE GOD SEND 72,000 ANGELS TO FIGHT FOR HIM. WOW! SO WHEN YOU GET IN A DILEMMA AND DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO, THEN READ THE CELESTIAL ADVANTAGE TO SEE WHAT GOD WILL DO FOR YOU! Blessings Obadiah E. Harris
Book Synopsis Celestial Sleuth by : Donald W. Olson

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For a general audience interested in solving mysteries in art, history, and literature using the methods of science, 'forensic astronomy' is a thrilling new field of exploration. Astronomical calculations are the basis of the studies, which have the advantage of bringing to readers both evocative images and a better understanding of the skies. Weather facts, volcano studies, topography, tides, historical letters and diaries, famous paintings, military records, and the friendly assistance of experts in related fields add variety, depth, and interest to the work. The chosen topics are selected for their wide public recognition and intrigue, involving artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Edvard Munch, and Ansel Adams; historical events such as the Battle of Marathon, the death of Julius Caesar, the American Revolution, and World War II; and literary authors such as Chaucer, Shakespeare, Joyce, and Mary Shelley. This book sets out to answer these mysteries indicated with the means and expertise of astronomy, opening the door to a richer experience of human culture and its relationship with nature. Each subject is carefully analyzed. As an example using the study of sky paintings by Vincent van Gogh, the analytical method would include: - computer calculations of historical skies above France in the 19th century - finding and quoting the clues found in translations of original letters by Van Gogh - making site visits to France to determine the precise locations when Van Gogh set up his easel and what celestial objects are depicted. For each historical event influenced by astronomy, there would be a different kind of mystery to be solved. As an example: - How can the phase of the Moon and time of moonrise help to explain a turning point of the American Civil War - the fatal wounding of Stonewall Jackson at Chancellorsville in 1863? For each literary reference to astronomy, it was determined which celestial objects were being described and making an argument that the author is describing an actual event. For example, what was the date of the moonlit scene when Mary Shelley first had the idea for her novel “Frankenstein?” These and more fun riddles will enchant and delight the fan of art and astronomy.

Book Synopsis Polarized Light in Animal Vision by : Gábor Horváth
Download or read book Polarized Light in Animal Vision written by Gábor Horváth and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The subject of this volume is two-fold. First, it gathers typical polarization patterns occurring in nature. Second, it surveys the polarization-sensitive ani mals, the physiological mechanisms and biological functions of polarization sensitivity as weIl as the polarization-guided behaviour in animals. The monograph is prepared for biologists, physicists and meteorologists, espe cially for experts of atmospheric optics and animal vision, who wish to under stand and reveal the message hidden in polarization patterns of the optical environment not directly accessible to the human visual system, but measur able by polarimetry and perceived by many animals. Our volume is an attempt to build a bridge between these two physical and biological flelds. In Part I we introduce the reader to the elements of imaging polarimetry. This technique can be efflciently used, e. g. in atmospheric optics, remote sens ing and biology. In Part 11 we deal with typical polarization patterns of the natural optical environment. Sunrise/sunset, clear skies, cloudy skies, moonshine and total solar eclipses all mean quite different illumination conditions, wh ich also affect the spatial distribution and strength of celestial polarization. We pre sent the polarization patterns of the sky and its unpolarized (neutral) points under sunlit, moonlit, clear, cloudy and eclipsed conditions as a function of solar elevation. The polarization pattern of a rainbow is also shown. That part of the spectrum is derived in which perception of skylight polarization is optimal under partly cloudy skies.

Book Synopsis Scientific and Medical Knowledge Production, 1796-1918 by : Rob Boddice
Download or read book Scientific and Medical Knowledge Production, 1796-1918 written by Rob Boddice and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-05-31 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is divided according to moral themes within medicine and science. The sources represent dominant notes within the culture of knowledge production that capture the moral/emotional/social justification for the making of expertise through experiment. This volume focuses on curiosity, given as the scientist’s chief motivating factor for the finding of new facts, and as an essential character trait for anyone entering the scientific life. It is also the source of controversy and criticism, since curiosity alone increasingly looked amoral at best and immoral at worst, as the nineteenth century wore on.
