Book Synopsis Our Authorized Bible: Answers to Objections by : Benjamin George Wilkinson
Download or read book Our Authorized Bible: Answers to Objections written by Benjamin George Wilkinson and published by TEACH Services, Inc.. This book was released on 2017-06-08 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Back in 1930, B.G. Wilkinson published Our Authorized Bible Vindicated. Some of his college colleagues took exception to his book and criticized it publicly. Since Wilkinson, who was a professor in one of our colleges, was having his scholarship questioned, it was mandatory that he reply. This book is his reply to their "review " and criticism. It literally "downs" them on every argument. Since feelings and rivalry were running high, the General Conference of those days requestioned Wilkinson to not publish this work. He agreed. Since the individuals concerned are no longer on the scene, and since the issue of modern versions is now a very important topic, we feel that this work should be available to students. At the time Our Authorized Bible Vindicated was published, the NIV had not come on the scene. Wilkinson's main concern was with the Revised Version and the American Revision, both springing from the works of Westcott and Hort (on the RV). All modern versions also have taken their basis from the Westcott-Hort Greek Text. It is time we re-examined their sources and reasoning.

Download or read book Our Authorized Bible Vindicated written by Benjamin George Wilkinson and published by . This book was released on 2005-11-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The all-time bestseller; the most translated book; the most controversial title--The Bible. Throughout the ages this precious book has been both persecuted and preserved, yet many today question the inspiration of the Bible as their faith weakens, and the Biblical fundamentals on which our modern day society depend crumble. This book was written to confirm and establish faith in the true infallible word of God. Today more than ever is a need to return to the authentic roots of our spiritual foundations. With the lines between the true and the false becoming blurred to unrecognition, it is imperative we can discern the accurate. Satan is working overtime to the point, if it were possible, he would decieve the very elect. Faulty Bible translations exist which draw minds away from the truth to the deceiver. Our Authorized Bible Vindicated explores the history of the bible throughout the centuries and how it has been preserved in its entirety untainted. The reader will be lead on a journey back to a solid belief in the true word of God and how to discern it from the false.

This book was released on 2023-11-10 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The rise of Christianity to the dominant position it held in the Middle Ages remains a paradoxical achievement. Early Christian communities in Gaul had been so restrictive that they sometimes persecuted misfits with accusations of heresy. Yet by the fifth century Gallic aristocrats were becoming bishops to enhance their prestige; and by the sixth century Christian relic cults provided the most comprehensive idiom for articulating values and conventions. To strengthen its appeal, Christianity had absorbed the ideologies of secular authority already familiar in Gallic society.
