Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gale Cooper's huge Cracking the Billy the Kid Imposter Hoax of Brushy Bill Roberts, in hardcover and paperback, definitively demolishes that 70 year hoax. Once "Brushy Bill" Roberts had united with his hoaxing authors," William V. Morrison, and C.L. Sonnichsen, they created one of the world's most elaborate, most labor intensive, most destructive, and most enduring historical hoaxes: the "Brushy Bill" Roberts Billy the Kid impersonation. Its corollary of "Brushy's" surviving the Kid's famous shooting death in New Mexico Territory's Fort Sumner on July 14, 1881, was defamation of famous lawman, Pat Garrett, as a liar who hid killing an innocent victim, not Billy, on that night. And when that hoax's creators died, more profiteers took their place. Its cast of madmen, charlatans, hucksters, forgers, windbags, and wannabes, make a pathetic and unsavory lot; whose eventual championing by a corrupt, self-promoting, 21st century, New Mexico governor gave them access to the world stage. All insulted legitimate historical investigation. That makes this book debunking them a study of lying - from delusional to malicious. More profoundly, this book is a testament to the real history unknown to "Brushy Bill" and his promoters: a magnificent, Territory-wide, freedom fight against New Mexico Territory's deadly land-grabbing Santa Fe Ring political cabal, that culminated in the Lincoln County War Battle, which made a grass-roots hero of teenaged, charismatic, bi-cultural zealot, Billy Bonney; and marked him for killing as his Ring enemies' mythologized outlaw: Billy the Kid.

Book excerpt: For many years, a man known as Brushy Bill Roberts proclaimed to all who would listen that he was the historical and legendary Billy the Kid, alive and well. And there were various books written that claimed this to be true. As a result, many became convinced of the validity of Brushy’s claim and Brushy's elaborate fable has continued to capture the imagination. In this book, the author has attempted to dispel the elaborate hoax once and for all. Brushy Bill Roberts was not Billy the Kid. He was, in fact, just an interesting elderly man, known by his family and acquaintances as a colorful Old West storyteller.

Book Synopsis The Coroner's Jury Report of Billy The Kid by : Gale Cooper
Download or read book The Coroner's Jury Report of Billy The Kid written by Gale Cooper and published by . This book was released on 2019-07-31 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gale Cooper's The Coroner's Jury Report of Billy the Kid: The Inquest that Sealed the Fame of Billy Bonney and Pat Garrett, 436 pages in Hardcover and Paperback, proves that it takes just that one Report to end all the Billy the Kid imposter hoaxes. This is the definitive book on that Report, which identified Pat Garrett's July 14, 1881 Fort Sumner victim as William Bonney, "the Kid." Given are the circumstances of that Coroner's Jury Report's writing, its proper filing with San Miguel County court records, and its basis for Pat Garrett's collecting his reward. The book also debunks the 20th century Billy the Kid imposter hoaxes of "Brushy Bill" Roberts and John Miller, which were based on denying that Garrett fatally shot the Kid on July 14, 1881, claimed he killed an innocent victim instead, and lied that Billy survived to old age as themselves. Also hoaxbusted are the 21st century "Billy the Kid Case" hoax and the "Cold Case Billy the Kid" megahoax, built on those old imposters' lies, with more added. The author is a Billy the Kid expert, author of many history and hoaxbusting books on the subject. She is a Harvard Medical School educated M.D. forensic psychiatrist.

Book Synopsis Billy The Kid's Pretender John Miller by : Gale Cooper
Download or read book Billy The Kid's Pretender John Miller written by Gale Cooper and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gale Cooper's Billy the Kid's Pretender John Miller exposes John Miller, a minor 20th century Billy the Kid imposter, who gained publicity by being exhumed for DNA fakery in the gigantic, publicity stunt, 21st century "Billy the Kid Case" hoax. Like all pretender hoaxes, John Miller's fakes that Sheriff Pat Garrett did not kill Billy the Kid on July 14, 1881; but murdered an innocent victim instead, leaving the pretender living to old age. For debunking, used are: the Coroner's Jury Report of Billy the Kid proving he was killed; history and writings of Billy the Kid to contrast John Miller's total ignorance of the character he was playing; critiques of John Miller's associates who claimed he was Billy the Kid; and exposé of the "Billy the Kid Case's" fake DNA forensics using John Miller's illegally exhumed remains, as well as grave-robbing the adjoining random man, William Hudspeth. The big picture is of non-entity, John Miller, who got caught up in major profiteering corruption of New Mexico's modern version of the 19th century Santa Fe Ring. Ironically, real Billy Bonney and his compatriots had fought that Ring in the Lincoln County War. And now its modern version tried to hijack his history.
Download or read book Blackwater Draw written by David S. Turk and published by Sunstone Press. This book was released on 2014-09-20 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On March 9, 1878, three men were murdered in isolated Blackwater Canyon in New Mexico. The suspects were Billy the Kid and a number of his Regulators. This action, almost assuredly taken in retaliation for the death of the Kid’s friend, John Henry Tunstall, became the real catalyst in the Lincoln County War. In 2006, the author and a team of investigators searched for the remains of the men and related artifacts in the obscure canyon—the first to do so since the murders. The murders were reconstructed with the discovery of over thirty bullet cartridges. As part of the reconstruction of the crime, the author widens the scope of his investigation by examining the lives and paths of all three victims: William S. “Buck” Morton, a Virginian fleeing from his past; Frank Baker, a mystery man who hid his real name and shady career; and William McCloskey, an elderly cowboy who unsuccessfully attempted to play the peacemaker. The myths and accounts of the three men and their murders are analytically separated. Connective events where the paths of the participants intersected, such as the death of John Tunstall, are likewise examined. Legend and fact are separated in the case and its participants—both victims and suspects. Billy the Kid is justly portrayed as a human being wrought by conflicts. The Regulators and their opposition reveal character both good and bad. An investigative approach to this portion of the Billy the Kid saga corrects the record on some old assumptions and creates new avenues of insight and possibility.
