Book Synopsis Unity Of Forces In The Universe (In 2 Volumes) by : A Zee
Download or read book Unity Of Forces In The Universe (In 2 Volumes) written by A Zee and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1982-01-01 with total page 1108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are now closer than ever to the fundamental goal of physics of understanding all physical phenomena as the inevitable consequences of few simple principles. The grand unified theory of the strong, weak and electromagnetic interactions has, among other things, explained the quantization of charge, determined the magnitude of the neutral current, and had dramatic impact on cosmology. This book is designed to bring interested students and researchers rapidly up to the point where they can contribute to this exciting field. A substantial text provides a review of the subject. In particular, several chapters are devoted to cosmology and the theory of galaxy formation. A selection of original papers is reprinted. A brief review of group theory is also provided. It is a must for all students and researchers in the field.

Book Synopsis Advances in Astronomy and Astrophysics by : Zdeněk Kopal
Download or read book Advances in Astronomy and Astrophysics written by Zdeněk Kopal and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 403 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Volume 3 is a collection of papers that describes the elements found in the solar atmosphere, Fourier transforms, internal structure of the stars, and apsidal motions. Two papers discuss the spectral analysis of solar flares and a survey of modern cosmology. One paper discusses the solar abundance of particular elements such as iron, sodium, potassium, zinc, gallium, strontium. The loss of heavier elements from the upper layers of the solar atmosphere depends on the atomic number: the heavier the atom the greater the amount of depletion. Another paper describes a method to determine the elements of an eclipsing binary system by defining the characteristic functions of the eclipse derived from some integral transforms of the ascending and descending parts in minima of the light curve. One paper compares the general physical theory of self-gravitating gas spheres and of thermonuclear processes with certain phenomena present in close binary systems. One paper notes that the estimates of electron density made by various methods at different flares (solar) and the resulting optical thickness of flares yield values within a wide range. The differences observed in optical thickness are due to various presuppositions on the broadening mechanism of the Balmer lines. The collection is suitable for astronomers, geochemists, astro-physicists, and scientists whose works involve cosmology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first of six volumes collecting significant papers of the distinguished astrophysicist and Nobel laureate S. Chandrasekhar. His work is notable for its breadth as well as for its brilliance; his practice has been to change his focus from time to time to pursue new areas of research. The result has been a prolific career full of discoveries and insights, some of which are only now being fully appreciated. Chandrasekhar has selected papers that trace the development of his ideas and that present aspects of his work not fully covered in the books he has periodically published to summarize his research in each area.
Book Synopsis The Mathematical Principles of Scale Relativity Physics by : Nicolae Mazilu
Download or read book The Mathematical Principles of Scale Relativity Physics written by Nicolae Mazilu and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2019-09-24 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Mathematical Principles of Scale Relativity Physics: The Concept of Interpretation explores and builds upon the principles of Laurent Nottale’s scale relativity. The authors address a variety of problems encountered by researchers studying the dynamics of physical systems. It explores Madelung fluid from a wave mechanics point of view, showing that confinement and asymptotic freedom are the fundamental laws of modern natural philosophy. It then probes Nottale’s scale transition description, offering a sound mathematical principle based on continuous group theory. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the matter to the reader via a generalization of relativity, a theory of colors, and classical electrodynamics. Key Features: Develops the concept of scale relativity interpreted according to its initial definition enticed by the birth of wave and quantum mechanics Provides the fundamental equations necessary for interpretation of matter, describing the ensembles of free particles according to the concepts of confinement and asymptotic freedom Establishes a natural connection between the Newtonian forces and the Planck’s law from the point of view of space and time scale transition: both are expressions of invariance to scale transition The work will be of great interest to graduate students, doctoral candidates, and academic researchers working in mathematics and physics.

Book Synopsis Scale Transitions As Foundations Of Physics by : Ioan Merches
Download or read book Scale Transitions As Foundations Of Physics written by Ioan Merches and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2021-02-04 with total page 429 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The scale transitions are essential to physical knowledge. The book describes the history of essential moments of physics, viewed as necessary consequences of the unavoidable process of scale transition, and provides the mathematical techniques for the construction of a theoretical physics founded on scale transition. The indispensable mathematical technique is analyticity, helping in the construction of space coordinate systems. The indispensable theoretical technique from physical point of view is the affine theory of surfaces. The connection between the two techniques is provided by a duality in defining the physical properties.
