Book excerpt: …Could one know the totality ancestors of our Species Sapiens, as accumulated experiences through Sapiens itself, coming from Genus Homo, Hominid Family, Order Primate, Class Mammals, Phylum Vertebrata, Kingdom Animals?.. …More than sure, the answer is not, just by taking into account that this chain of evolution has an average age of ca. about 500 millions years of different eras and periods, and the un-numerable ascendant species or genus or families, had been already in extinct phase of paleontology of the earth… …But through a theoretical process of the psychoanalytic introversion into upright posture of the Hominid Family, Genus Homo and Species Sapiens, it is tried a confrontation not only with the supposed subconscious of this triad bipedic ancestor of present human, but a re-sensing of myth-o-poiesis enchained into the three interrelated evolutionary groups, perhaps, the main responsible for our qualities, for our fragilities, for our vulnerabilities and for our creativities… …This metaphor for a Species individuation, with a huge emptiness around us, united in contraries, transcending ourselves towards unknown, resembles a creative pathology in-written into human, who is the carrier of duality consciousness – sub-consciousness, which is the mirror into which the cosmos and the nature are seen reflected… Anthropo - Sapientosophist

Book excerpt: At most technology companies, you'll reach Senior Software Engineer, the career level for software engineers, in five to eight years. At that career level, you'll no longer be required to work towards the next pro? motion, and being promoted beyond it is exceptional rather than ex? pected. At that point your career path will branch, and you have to decide between remaining at your current level, continuing down the path of technical excellence to become a Staff Engineer, or switching into engineering management. Of course, the specific titles vary by company, and you can replace "Senior Engineer" and "Staff Engineer" with whatever titles your company prefers.Over the past few years we've seen a flurry of books unlocking the en? gineering management career path, like Camille Fournier's The Man? ager's Path, Julie Zhuo's The Making of a Manager, Lara Hogan's Re? silient Management and my own, An Elegant Puzzle. The manage? ment career isn't an easy one, but increasingly there are maps avail? able for navigating it.On the other hand, the transition into Staff Engineer, and its further evolutions like Principal and Distinguished Engineer, remains chal? lenging and undocumented. What are the skills you need to develop to reach Staff Engineer? Are technical abilities alone sufficient to reach and succeed in that role? How do most folks reach this role? What is your manager's role in helping you along the way? Will you enjoy being a Staff Engineer or you will toil for years to achieve a role that doesn't suit you?"Staff Engineer: Leadership beyond the management track" is a pragmatic look at attaining and operate in these Staff-plus roles.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Visual archetypes are the DNA of culture. In artefacts and artworks, where archaeo-astronomers see ancient star maps, archaeologists see cultural traditions, and anthropologists see initiation secrets, appear a standard sequence of types, on an axial grid. Structural archaeology uses constellations as myth maps to find the structure of our perception. All inspired artists, in the Stone, Ice, Bronze and Iron Ages; Babylonians, Egyptians, Chinese, Celts, Mayans, Vikings and moderns, subconsciously express mindprint, our eternal artefact. The sixteen clusters of attributes are demonstrated in 200 examples of famous art and rock art works from every continent and culture. Archetypes are statistically proven, and their 'camouflage' is explained in terms of archaeology, anthropology, art history, psychology, philosophy, archaeo-astronomy, esoterica and spirituality. Readers will never look at art, artists or culture as a cumulative, learned or evolved craft again.

This book was released on 2017-01-11 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present book analyses critically the tripartite mimicry model (consisting of the mimic, model and receiver species) and develops semiotic tools for comparative analysis. It is proposed that mimicry has a double structure where sign relations in communication are in constant interplay with ecological relations between species. Multi-constructivism and toolbox-like conceptual methods are advocated for, as these allow taking into account both the participants’ Umwelten as well as cultural meanings related to specific mimicry cases. From biosemiotic viewpoint, mimicry is a sign relation, where deceptively similar messages are perceived, interpreted and acted upon. Focusing on living subjects and their communication opens up new ways to understand mimicry. Such view helps to explain the diversity of mimicry as well as mimicry studies and treat these in a single framework. On a meta-level, a semiotic view allows critical reflection on the use of mimicry concept in modern biology. The author further discusses interpretations of mimicry in contemporary semiotics, analyses mimicry as communicative interaction, relates mimicry to iconic signs and focuses on abstract resemblances in mimicry. Theoretical discussions are illustrated with detailed excursions into practical mimicry cases in nature (brood parasitism, eyespots, myrmecomorphy, etc.). The book concludes with a conviction that mimicry should be treated in a broader semiotic-ecological context as it presumes the existence of ecological codes and other sign conventions in the ecosystem.

Marcela Lobos presents the 10 rites of the Munay-Ki, which are gateways to the evolution of our consciousness. These teachings are based on initiatory practices of the shamans of the Andes and the Amazon, transformed for the modern age. She shares her personal journey and discoveries with the Quero healers, along with stories of how her and her students’ lives were changed, to inspire you on your own spiritual path. “Munay” means “universal love” in the Quechua language, while “ki” is from the Japanese word for energy. Together, these words mean “energy of love.” After you go through the rites of the Munay-Ki, you can begin to dream the world into being—the world we want our children’s children to inherit.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyzes the rise of the earliest Greek temples through an innovative phenomenological approach, in which lived experiences are assumed as key tools of investigation. Accordingly, much space is dedicated to exploring the connections that tied the Greeks to their surroundings environment, by surviving records of Greek religion, poetry, art, philosophy and architecture from the archaic times. This framework sheds a new light on the relationship between ‘human’ and ‘divine’ in the ancient Greek world, suggesting that the archetypal structure of temple was devised to facilitate a particular kind of experience, that of the Divine. Such an experience produced a break from ordinary and profane life, allowing a special awareness to be gained. The findings and method of this book enable us to bridge the gap between our present days and that distant era, rediscovering our ancient past as an endless source of inspiration.
