Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Seat of The Antichrist: Bible Prophecy and The European Union identifies the European Union as the final world empire and explains what Bible Prophecy predicts will occur in the end times. The reader discovers the relationship between Bible Prophecy, the European Union and today's current affairs. The Seat of the Antichrist details the European Union's history and institutional structure and shows how it aligns with Bible Prophecy. Bible Prophecy comprises one third of the Bible. The Bible's last book, The Revelation, predicts the events leading to the end of the world. It provides the details for the Tribulation, which occur during a seven year period of wars, plagues, earthquakes and calamities, which end in the battle of Armageddon. Part of the earth's judgments happen through a leader who rises to power from the final world empire predicted in Bible Prophecy. Evangelical Christians customarily refer to this leader as The Antichrist. The Seat of the Antichrist is the first book dealing with Bible Prophecy, which shows prophecy's relation in the present geopolitical framework and in doing so dismisses end-time conspiracy theories, which Bible Prophecy works often rely on. No book dealing with Bible Prophecy provides such in-depth analysis and extensive research as The Seat of the Antichrist: Bible Prophecy and The European Union, which presents the reader with a gripping, riveting expose.

Book excerpt: The doctrine of the Antichrist is one of the most interesting doctrines found in Scripture, says author Kim Riddlebarger. Unfortunately, it's also one which has been subject to far more speculation than sound biblical exegesis. Until now. Unlike other resources available on the Antichrist, The Man of Sin focuses on Scripture, not contemporary events, to uncover the truth about this mysterious entity. With skilled exegesis Riddlebarger asserts that, contrary to popular speculation, the Antichrist is not a singular individual but a series of beings that will arise to challenge Christ throughout the inter-advental age before culminating in an end-times Antichrist. Backing this claim first in Scripture, Riddlebarger also draws from historical teachings including those of the church fathers, the Reformation, and historic Protestantism, before contrasting this evidence to the sensational interpretations of many contemporary writers. Pastors, teachers, and study groups wanting to understand the doctrine of the Antichrist will find The Man of Sin to be a unique and comprehensive study.

Book excerpt: Is the Devil a living reality, or is he nothing more than a figment of the imagination? Is the word "Satan" merely a synonym for wickedness, or does it stand for a concrete entity? In cultured circles it has become the custom to return a negative answer to these questions, and to flatly deny the existence of the Tempter. Among such people it is regarded as a mark of intellectual superiority to repudiate the personality of the Devil. By many, Satan is now looked upon as a product of priestcraft, a relic of superstition, the myth of a bygone age. With others, Satan is simply an abstraction, a mere negation, the opposite of good. "All the Devil there is, is the devil within you," is the last word of "modern thought." The words which Goethe puts into the mouth of Mephistopholes"I am the Spirit of Negation"is accepted as a good workable definition of the Devil. He is regarded as a mere abstract principle of evil. As someone has quaintly put it, "They spell Devil without a 'd', as they spell God with two 'o's'. Good and evil is their scheme." Totally based on the scriptures. This book presents biblical answers to that subject.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hippolytus of Rome (170–235) was the most important 3rd-century theologian in the Christian Church in Rome, where he was probably born. Photios I of Constantinople describes him in his Bibliotheca (cod. 121) as a disciple of Irenaeus, who was said to be a disciple of Polycarp, and from the context of this passage it is supposed that he suggested that Hippolytus himself so styled himself. However, this assertion is doubtful. He came into conflict with the popes of his time and seems to have headed a schismatic group as a rival Bishop of Rome. For that reason he is sometimes considered the first antipope. He opposed the Roman bishops who softened the penitential system to accommodate the large number of new pagan converts. However, he was very probably reconciled to the Church when he died as a martyr. Starting in the 4th century, various legends arose about him, identifying him as a priest of the Novatianist schism or as a soldier converted by Saint Lawrence. He has also been confused with another martyr of the same name. Ironically, it is Pius IV who identifies him as "Saint Hippolytus, Bishop of Pontus" who was martyred in the reign of Alexander Severus through his inscription on a statue found at the Church of St. Lawrence in Rome and kept at the Vatican as photographed and published in Brunsen.

Book excerpt: "Antichrist" is an in-depth study of the biblical texts on Antichrist, which aims to answer the question: Who or what is the Antichrist? To answer this question, Pink traces the references to Antichrist, including the Book of Psalms, the Gospels, the Epistles, and Revelation, and constructs the profile of Antichrist from the scriptures. He doesn't approach Antichrist only as a person but also as an ideology that leads to a certain chain of deeds and events. Yet, in the first chapters of the book, he rejects the idea that the Roman papacy is the embodiment of Antichrist, despite their persecution of Christians in the Middle Ages. In Chapters Three to Seven, he gives details on the possible Antichrist identity as he sees it, based on the scripture. Chapter Eight through Seventeen demonstrate how the theme of Antichrist is displayed through the Bible. Arthur Walkington Pink (1886–1952) is one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century. He was an English Bible teacher who sparked a renewed interest in the exposition of Calvinism or Reformed Theology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is it possible that we have left Christ out of Christianity? Is the faith and practice of American Christians today more American than Christian? These are the provocative questions Michael Horton addresses in this thoughtful, insightful book. He argues that while we invoke the name of Christ, too often Christ and the Christ-centered gospel are pushed aside. The result is a message and a faith that are, in Horton's words, "trivial, sentimental, affirming, and irrelevant." This alternative "gospel" is a message of moralism, personal comfort, self-help, self-improvement, and individualistic religion. It trivializes God, making him a means to our selfish ends. Horton skillfully diagnoses the problem and points to the solution: a return to the unadulterated gospel of salvation.
