Book excerpt: "On the surface, Chief Dove Carnahan is a true trailblazer who would do anything to protect the rural Pennsylvanian countryside where she has lived all fifty of her years. Traditional and proud of her blue-collar sensibilities, Dove is loved by her community. But beneath her badge lies a dark and self-destructive streak, fed by a secret she has kept since she was sixteen. When a girl is beaten to death, her body tossed down a fiery sinkhole in an abandoned coal town, Dove is faced with solving the worst crime of her law enforcement career. She identifies the girl as a daughter of the Truly family, a notoriously irascible dynasty of rednecks and petty criminals. During her investigation, the man convicted of killing Dove's mother years earlier is released from prison. Still proclaiming his innocence, he approaches Dove with a startling accusation and a chilling threat that forces her to face the parallels between her own family's trauma and that of the Trulys" --

Book Synopsis Engaging with Heaven by : Geoff Daplyn
Download or read book Engaging with Heaven written by Geoff Daplyn and published by Paragon Publishing. This book was released on 2014-06-26 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: HEAVEN WANTS to engage directly with you. Are you actively engaging with Heaven and allowing Heaven to engage with you? Many are so busy with personal, family and church agendas that engaging directly with Heaven is altogether foreign. As a believer, you are Heaven’s conduit to earth. The Father’s kingdom is to be manifested through you, but unless you engage with Him, how are you to know what He wants of you. Jesus only did what He saw the Father doing. ENGAGING WITH HEAVEN will help you understand why you can. It will also outline how you can take the initiative to engage with Heaven, and how Heaven takes the initiative to engage with you. It will open up new possibilities for living a life pregnant with the kingdom, the power and the glory of Heaven. Heaven is waiting … www.yourkingdomcome.org “This book could well be in your hands at an opportune time, a time when there could be a significant impact.” MARTIN SCOTT
Book Synopsis Descenders to the Chariot by : James Davila
Download or read book Descenders to the Chariot written by James Davila and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-11-22 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Hekhalot literature is a bizarre conglomeration of Jewish esoteric and revelatory texts in Hebrew and Aramaic, produced sometime between late antiquity and the early Middle Ages and surviving in medieval manuscripts. These texts claims to describe the self-induced spiritual experiences of the "descenders to the chariot" and to reveal the techniques that permitted these magico-religious practitioners to view for themselves Ezekiel's Merkavah as well as to gain control of angels and a supernatural mastery of Torah. Drawing on epigraphic and archaeological evidence from the Middle East, anthropological models, and a wide range of cross-cultural evidence, this book aims to show that the Hekhalot literature preserves the teachings and rituals of real religious functionaries who flourished in late antiquity and who were quite like the functionaries anthopologists call shamans.
Download or read book Temple Portals written by Oded Yisraeli and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2016-07-11 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph discusses the Zohar, the most important book of the Kabbalah, as a late strata of the Midrashic literature. The author concentrates on the 'expanded' biblical stories in the Zohar and on its relationship to the ancient Talmudic Aggadah. The analytical and critical examination of these biblical themes reveals aspects of continuity and change in the history of the old Aggadic story and its way into the Zoharic corpus. The detailed description of this literary process also reveals the world of the authors of the Zohar, their spiritual distress, mystical orientations, and self-consciousness.

Download or read book Fire Vision written by Steven Harrison and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-07-17 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within the pages of the Holy Bible, the Lord God Almighty used fire in powerful ways to deliver His message. His authority became apparent when He brought or sent fire down. A few excellent illustrations include Elijah and the prophets of Baal, the three young men in the fiery furnace, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Moses at the burning bush and the tongues of fire on the day of Pentecost. Consider also our largest visual source of fire and heat. The solar sun eclipses and blood moons are often considered as key events or signs in God's Word. Flames entered my apartment in 1992 and left behind four distinct burned images with sealed messages from the eternal consuming fire. The amazing images in my bedroom later told the story of my heart attack. The Holy Spirit unlocked these images by His Word through time. The Cokeville miracle story also has a detailed fire image that was burned into the wall. Its message had been well hidden until now. Learn the interpretations for these miraculous images and understand that the same Creator who made these images will be returning someday with His fire vision to judge all things. The single most important and unanswered question for many people today remains a mystery. Ask yourself, "How will the King of kings see me?"
