Her mom dies while she is three due to domestic terror occasioned by the culture of marital rivalries. Her auntie decides to adopt her. Terrere slides into the lust battle caused by her aunties husband. Uncle deflowers her at a tender age, leading to the duo committing clandestinely feticide. With the help of the computer and Internet, Terrere enrolls in e-study in the evolution of terrorism, packaged by an anonymous instructor (AI). While AI prods Terrere cerebrally, Uncle snubs her for refusing to be made a sexual slave. Terrere engages in private lessons in terrorism. She surges on and obtains a degree. Uncle sends threat/love letter to Terreres box pseudonymously. She detects the plot and leaves the house, having been employed timely. Terrere is kidnapped but released through divine help. The anonymous instructor takes her through the meaning and scope of terrorism. What sustained terrorism for two thousand years? What is psycho-terrorism? Whatll happen if terrorists seize dirty flukes? Of what use is counterterrorism strategy? Whats deradicalization process? Other lessons follow. Terrere isnt deterred by the early violation of her sexual and human rights. * * * * * * * Terreres Universe is a great historical novel, crafted in the tradition of Platonic dialogue, gliding on the lane of creative synergy. Its recommended for conflict managers, politicians, students of all classes, national security experts, researchers, and preferred readers. The book is a sui generis, written in an easy-to-read fashion, thus making asymmetrical warfare (terrorism) a seeming thing of pleasure (TOURICOM Journal).

Book excerpt: Over the past three decades scholars, students and policy makers studying and engaged in conflict resolution have veered between conflict management and resolution. However, the changing nature of conflict, which is taking the form of radicalization and extremism are deeply rooted in individual's ideology, personalities and genes, hence, rendering the conventional macro-level power balance analytics obsolete. The psychology and human genetics are at the center of this evolution. This shift in conflict trends and methods of warfare in Africa and the world over demands that we search for alternative approaches, mechanisms, and innovative response. It is against this background that this new book initiates a fundamental debate on how interdisciplinary adventure could increase the understanding off man-kind and the socio-biological systems surounding man, hence, the emphasis on the discispline of Conflictology to embody scientific approaches, methods and prescription to conflict resolution. For instance, does individual's gene influence human behaviours, such as "hate"? If so, can this be corrected through gene transposition? If human relations should be anchored on "peace", what are these genetic and behavioural factors that creat "hate" and "violence"? How then, should such a gene or neurobiological system be altered in order to prevent extremism and radicalization?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using input from 8 top Westie breeders, accomplished author Vanessa Richie has created the perfect guidebook for the West Highland White Terrier. It will help any new Westie owner to raise a happy and healthy dog from puppy to old age. Covering "Westie specific" advice on topics such as: How to find a reputable and high-quality breeder Rescuing an older Westie from a shelter or rescue organization Preparing your home, family, and pets for the arrival of your new Westie Housetraining and crate training Nutrition for every stage of your Westies life Grooming, health care, and vet visits Physical and mental exercise needs Caring for a senior Westie in their golden years The West Highland White Terrier is everything that people typically associate with terriers: a lot of energy and personality are packed into a smaller dog. You’ll find that under all of that long, coarse fur is an incredibly sturdy dog that seems like a bundle of energy. As a highly intelligent breed, Westies can be easy to train, especially if you provide the right positive reinforcements. They are a great example of why you should only use positive reinforcement – when you try to use negative reinforcement, they tend to get a lot more stubborn. That intelligence tends to make them independent, so you aren’t nearly as likely to have problems with separation anxiety as you do with many other smaller breeds. Loyal and faithful, Westies are great for individuals and families. They want to play and have a great time, making them quite the entertaining addition to the family. Once they’ve gotten all of that energy out of their system, they make great lounging companions. It’s hard to go wrong with a West Highland White Terrier because they have lived and worked very closely with people for generations. Once you have a West Highland White Terrier in your home, it’s really hard not to want to make them a permanent part of your family.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sovereignty and jurisdiction are legal doctrines of a complex nature, which have been subject to differing interpretations by scholars in legal literature. The tridimensionality of state territory recognised under customary international law subsists until the present but there are other territories that do not or cannot belong to any state or political entity which also must be accounted for in legal theory. The issues surrounding sovereignty and jurisdiction are likely to become ever more pressing as globalisation, growing pressure on resources and the need for energy and national security become acute, and the resolution of special delimitation disputes seems likely to become a vital question in the twenty-first century. As a result of the fast pace of technological developments in air and space activities and the massive increases in air transportation , satellite communications and space exploration, the need for scholars and practitioners to sharpen their appreciation of the legal and political issues becomes crucial. This book will focus primarily on the issues of sovereignty jurisdiction and control in airspace and outer space and their effects on public and private activities, but it will also look at related issues pertaining to the Seas and Antarctica. Commercial exploitation, resource control and the international regime regulating contractual obligations in relation to transportation of goods and services over all forms of territory will be examined to the extent that they are necessary to explain jurisdictional rights and duties over territory. Older problems of international law such as crimes in the air and airspace trespass are treated along with newer developments such as space tourism as well as growing demand for private ownership and involvement in outer space exploitation. The book goes on to consider the distinction between airspace and outer space and puts forward legal criteria which would allow for the resolution of the spatial delimitation dispute. These criteria would determine where in spatial terms the exclusive sovereignty of airspace ends and where outer space – the province of all mankind – begins, and contribute to the jurisprudence of territorial sovereignty and jurisdiction.

Book excerpt: Assessment of Mission Size Trade-offs for NASA's Earth and Space Science Missions addresses fundamental issues of mission architecture in the nation's scientific space program and responds to the FY99 Senate conference report, which requested that NASA commission a study to assess the strengths and weaknesses of small, medium, and large missions. This report evaluates the general strengths and weaknesses of small, medium, and large missions in terms of their potential scientific productivity, responsiveness to evolving opportunities, ability to take advantage of technological progress, and other factors that may be identified during the study; identifies which elements of the SSB and NASA science strategies will require medium or large missions to accomplish high-priority science objectives; and recommends general principles or criteria for evaluating the mix of mission sizes in Earth and space science programs. Assessment of Mission Size Trade-offs for NASA's Earth and Space Science Missions considers not only scientific, technological, and cost trade-offs, but also institutional and structural issues pertaining to the vigor of the research community, government-industry university partnerships, graduate student training, and the like.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Allan Greer examines the processes by which forms of land tenure emerged and natives were dispossessed from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries in New France (Canada), New Spain (Mexico), and New England. By focusing on land, territory, and property, he deploys the concept of 'property formation' to consider the ways in which Europeans and their Euro-American descendants remade New World space as they laid claim to the continent's resources, extended the reach of empire, and established states and jurisdictions for themselves. Challenging long-held, binary assumptions of property as a single entity, which various groups did or did not possess, Greer highlights the diversity of indigenous and Euro-American property systems in the early modern period. The book's geographic scope, comparative dimension, and placement of indigenous people on an equal plane with Europeans makes it unlike any previous study of early colonization and contact in the Americas.
