Book Synopsis The World and the Word by : Eugene H. Merrill
Download or read book The World and the Word written by Eugene H. Merrill and published by B&H Publishing Group. This book was released on 2011-07-05 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The World and the Word is a fresh introduction to the Old Testament driven largely by the fact that so much Christian preaching and teaching today increasingly ignores what is eighty percent of the Bible. Authors Eugene Merrill, Mark Rooker, and Michael Grisanti work through the world and text of the Old Testament always making three major points: • The Old Testament is a rich source of theology and doctrine that is presupposed by the New Testament. Without it, Christian theology would be seriously deficient. • Mastery of the Old Testament is crucial to an understanding of the New Testament. • The Old Testament offers, by teaching and example, practical principles of belief and behavior for contemporary times. Who God was and what He did then can be replicated in the lives of men and women today. Separating the verifiable biblical and extra-biblical data from the various interpretations of that same information, the book further shows how the Old Testament forms the platform and matrix from which sprang the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus and the church. The World and the Word will help students see an entry point into the very heart and design of God who loves them and wishes to make them the special object of His grace.

It is a 613 coded do's and don'ts from the basis which are Ten Words / Commandments, Statutes and Judgments. It received attention from the people of old to keep with Moses as the main expounder while Abraham and his sons - Isaac and Jacob as the prime Performers. Yahsha Messiah, Our Savior was also obedient to the Law as He serves as its perfection in the transfiguration story in Matt. 17:1-3. The Most High and Israelites had contract based on these Laws which also included both the earthly and spiritual land acquisitions. With this Torah given to Israelites as a heritage, the modern church and indeed the secular world of Christendom are seen to be entirely Hebraic in origin hence they will need to go back to base.

Book Synopsis New Testament TransLine by : Michael Magill
Download or read book New Testament TransLine written by Michael Magill and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-07-18 with total page 1052 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Second Edition The republishing of the New Testament TransLine has given me the opportunity to fix all the typos that have been brought to my attention. I give thanks to all who helped by pointing out these things. In addition, I have produced the forthcoming Disciples Literal New Testament (tentative title), which is a simplified version of this book, about one third its size. It is the same translation found in this volume, but now presented in paragraph format (no outline), with interpretive section headings and a few notes. Moving the translation to paragraph format required changes to the punctuation, and these are now incorporated into this volume as well. Some improvements to the outline structure of The New Testament TransLine were also made as an outcome of viewing the text in paragraphs. May God bless you as you study His Word, and may God use these two works according to His good pleasure. In contradiction to the tenor and direction of our current world, the Word of God will stand forever as objective truth corresponding to true reality from God's point of view. It is not truth for me, or true because it works for me, but it is truth from God, and therefore truth for everyone. Michael Magill April 2008
