Book excerpt: In the New York Times best-selling book The Tapping Solution, Nick Ortner, founder of the Tapping World Summit and best-selling filmmaker of The Tapping Solution, is at the forefront of a new healing movement. In this book, he gives readers everything they need to successfully start using the powerful practice of tapping—or Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).Tapping is one of the fastest and easiest ways to address both the emotional and physical problems that tend to hamper our lives. Using the energy meridians of the body, practitioners tap on specific points while focusing on particular negative emotions or physical sensations. The tapping helps calm the nervous system to restore the balance of energy in the body, and in turn rewire the brain to respond in healthy ways. This kind of conditioning can help rid practitioners of everything from chronic pain to phobias to addictions. Because of tapping’s proven success in healing such a variety of problems, Ortner recommends to try it on any challenging issue. In The Tapping Solution, Ortner describes not only the history and science of tapping but also the practical applications. In a friendly voice, he lays out easy-to-use practices, diagrams, and worksheets that will teach readers, step-by-step, how to tap on a variety of issues. With chapters covering everything from the alleviation of pain to the encouragement of weight loss to fostering better relationships, Ortner opens readers’ eyes to just how powerful this practice can be. Throughout the book, readers will see real-life stories of healing ranging from easing the pain of fibromyalgia to overcoming a fear of flying. The simple strategies Ortner outlines will help readers release their fears and clear the limiting beliefs that hold them back from creating the life they want.

Book excerpt: Top Customer Reviews 4.0 out of 5 starsNice short introductory book on EFT By Jed Shlackman VINE VOICE on February 20, 2016 Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase This book provides a nice overview of what the energy psychology practice of EFT is, how it functions, and how it can help improve your life. The author explains the concepts of how our mind and energy system function and why tapping on key points while addressing particular issues can help support a healing shift. The book has some examples to get you started with practicing EFT. This book is fairly short, and is a nice companion to materials originally published freely online by Gary Craig, the creator of EFT. It's not a comprehensive guide to working with EFT, while it does explain it fairly well and provides enough basics to get you started. As a psychotherapist and energy healer myself, I have sometimes used EFT as well as other energy psychology protocols with clients, so I am familiar with how it works and with the range of response seen from people who work with EFT. I was provided a free sample of this book for my honest, unbiased review.

Book excerpt: Through 5 practical steps, Dr. Judith Orloff's guide will show you how to recapture, nurture, and affirm your intuitive ability, so that you can utilize it to help heal yourself. In her groundbreaking book, Dr. Orloff leads readers to the heart of a radical revolution in health care: the union of medicine and intuition, of body, mind, and soul. Intuition plays an indispensable role in self-diagnosis, pain control, immune response, and recovery from acute and chronic illness; it can lead you to breakthroughs in anxiety, panic, depression, and other emotional blockages, even when traditional psychotherapy has failed. Intuition also offers insights into the use of medications and the selection of the right healer for your needs. Further, it is integral for sexual healing, since sexuality is a potent connector and energy source for clarifying spirituality and improving vitality. With Dr. Orloff's five practical steps, you'll learn to clarify your beliefs, listen to your body's messages, access inner guidance, sense subtle energy, and interpret your dreams. Practicing the steps, you'll recognize early warning signals and act on them to help prevent illness. You'll have skills to uncover important information from meditation and remote viewing (a way of intuitively tuning in) to make sense of confusing signals. The insights you'll gain from these tools will lend reason, compassion, and meaning to events such as illness, loss, or despair. Following Dr. Orloff's simple, clear instructions, illustrated with examples from her own experience and psychiatric practice, you'll recapture a sense of vision that will bring vibrance to all that you do. "Our intuition can open us up to our spirituality and show us how to be more healthy and whole," writes Dr. Orloff. "If you're in good health, you'll want to know about intuition because it can help you stay well and recognize messages that prevent illness. If you or your loved ones need healing, you'll also want intuition to show the way." Written with abundant warmth, humor, and compassion, this guide is your companion to a healthier, more fulfilling life.

And if you’re one of them, you’ve probably tried all the normal "solutions": doctors, injections, medications, and surgeries. While these all have a place in healing, they have fallen short in dealing with the pain epidemic. So what can you do? In The Tapping Solution for Pain Relief, Nick Ortner presents a startling alternative. He lays out a step-by-step plan that teaches you how to use tapping, or EFT (emotional freedom techniques), to reduce or eliminate chronic pain. Looking at the scientific research surrounding pain, stress, and tapping, he opens your eyes to just how powerful tapping can be, and then outlines tips and techniques to address pain in both the short and long term. Nick guides you on a journey that begins on the surface—tapping to address the pain itself—and moves to the deeper issues that often affect pain. With easy-to-follow tapping scripts and exercises, Nick helps you heal the emotional pain and underlying beliefs that often keep people stuck. He also addresses topics that you may not think of as associated with chronic pain, such as: •Creating personal boundaries •Dealing with toxic relationships •Clearing resistance to change •Understanding the power of a diagnosis •Working through angerThere are many ways the brain and body can create, increase, and prolong pain. After reading this book, you’ll not only understand what’s causing your pain but also how to achieve complete and lasting relief. But let’s face it; this is about more than just pain relief. It’s about empowering yourself to take back your body in order to live the life you want.

Book excerpt: Most of us go through life with a vision of what the ideal relationship is supposed to be, yet too often our longing for a soul mate leads to disappointment and heartbreak. What we see, desire, or harshly judge in our mate is but a reflection of self, Vanzant explains, as in IN THE MEANTIME she helps us to break free of our fantasies and view a relationship as an ongoing process of discovery and growth. Whether she is offering practical advice on how to avoid making the same relationship mistakes over and over again, or helping us to view the painful end of a relationship as an opportunity to learn and change, Iyanla Vanzant, as author Patrice Gains has said, 'reminds us that every moment is an opportunity to learn and inspires and encourages us to continue our inward daily search'.
