Book Synopsis Block Designs by : Damaraju Raghavarao
Download or read book Block Designs written by Damaraju Raghavarao and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2005 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Combinatorial mathematicians and statisticians have made a wide range of contributions to the development of block designs, and this book brings together much of that work. The designs developed for a specific problem are used in a variety of different settings. Applications include controlled sampling, randomized response, validation and valuation studies, intercropping experiments, brand cross-effect designs, lotto and tournaments. The intra- and inter- block, nonparametric and covariance analysis are discussed for general block designs, and the concepts of connectedness, orthogonality, and all types of balances in designs are carefully summarized. Readers are also introduced to the designs currently playing a prominent role in the field: alpha designs, trend-free designs, balanced treatment-control designs, nearest neighbor designs, and nested designs. This book provides the important background results required by researchers in block designs and related areas and prepares them for more complex research on the subject.
Book Synopsis Design and Analysis of Experiments, Volume 2 by : Klaus Hinkelmann
Download or read book Design and Analysis of Experiments, Volume 2 written by Klaus Hinkelmann and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2005-05-13 with total page 812 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The development and introduction of new experimental designs in the last fifty years has been quite staggering, brought about largely by an ever-widening field of applications. Design and Analysis of Experiments, Volume 2: Advanced Experimental Design is the second of a two-volume body of work that builds upon the philosophical foundations of experimental design set forth by Oscar Kempthorne half a century ago and updates it with the latest developments in the field. Designed for advanced-level graduate students and industry professionals, this text includes coverage of incomplete block and row-column designs; symmetrical, asymmetrical, and fractional factorial designs; main effect plans and their construction; supersaturated designs; robust design, or Taguchi experiments; lattice designs; and cross-over designs.

Book Synopsis Optimal Covariate Designs by : Premadhis Das
Download or read book Optimal Covariate Designs written by Premadhis Das and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-07-23 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book primarily addresses the optimality aspects of covariate designs. A covariate model is a combination of ANOVA and regression models. Optimal estimation of the parameters of the model using a suitable choice of designs is of great importance; as such choices allow experimenters to extract maximum information for the unknown model parameters. The main emphasis of this monograph is to start with an assumed covariate model in combination with some standard ANOVA set-ups such as CRD, RBD, BIBD, GDD, BTIBD, BPEBD, cross-over, multi-factor, split-plot and strip-plot designs, treatment control designs, etc. and discuss the nature and availability of optimal covariate designs. In some situations, optimal estimations of both ANOVA and the regression parameters are provided. Global optimality and D-optimality criteria are mainly used in selecting the design. The standard optimality results of both discrete and continuous set-ups have been adapted, and several novel combinatorial techniques have been applied for the construction of optimum designs using Hadamard matrices, the Kronecker product, Rao-Khatri product, mixed orthogonal arrays to name a few.
Book Synopsis Block Designs: A Randomization Approach by : Tadeusz Calinski
Download or read book Block Designs: A Randomization Approach written by Tadeusz Calinski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is composed of two volumes, each consisting of five chapters. In Vol ume I, following some statistical motivation based on a randomization model, a general theory of the analysis of experiments in block designs has been de veloped. In the present Volume II, the primary aim is to present methods of that satisfy the statistical requirements described in constructing block designs Volume I, particularly those considered in Chapters 3 and 4, and also to give some catalogues of plans of the designs. Thus, the constructional aspects are of predominant interest in Volume II, with a general consideration given in Chapter 6. The main design investigations are systematized by separating the material into two contents, depending on whether the designs provide unit efficiency fac tors for some contrasts of treatment parameters (Chapter 7) or not (Chapter 8). This distinction in classifying block designs may be essential from a prac tical point of view. In general, classification of block designs, whether proper or not, is based here on efficiency balance (EB) in the sense of the new termi nology proposed in Section 4. 4 (see, in particular, Definition 4. 4. 2). Most of the attention is given to connected proper designs because of their statistical advantages as described in Volume I, particularly in Chapter 3. When all con trasts are of equal importance, either the class of (v - 1; 0; O)-EB designs, i. e.
